The Kahala is all about what a holiday should be. It was true luxury and pure relaxation. The staff are lovely and very attentive. The room was beautiful, clean and the bed was one of the best beds I've ever slept on. The resort is a little out of town but that's what makes it special, it's secluded and is only a short bus trip or taxi ride into Waikiki. It's a little expensive but well worth it. Would go back in a heart beat.

Being first-timers to Hawaii for our 15th Anniversary, we used TravelWizard.com to help us plan our trip. We started out with four nights at the Kahala Resort and we loved the room. We were on the end of the Dolphin Lagoon in a king lanai room and the room was huge and the bathroom was big. Although we couldn't see the ocean from the room, we could sit outside and watch the dolphins frolic. The service was quiet and unobtrusive, but more than you could ask for. We really felt like we were away from everything, yet it was only 15-20 minutes to the heart of Waikiki. This is not the place to stay if you want to nightclub hop, but if you want the Hawaiian experience while still being near everything, The Kahala will not disappoint. The best part was the breakfast and sitting outside with an unobstructed view of the blue water. Wish I was still there.

We stayed here for the 2nd leg of our honeymoon. It absolutely blew us away. It really is stunning and the staff will make you feel like you are royalty.

The staff here give a much more personal service than at our first destination (wynn, las vegas). It is nice to be greated with a flower lei and a cold towel handed to you after your journey is nice.

We booked a garden room but were upgraded free of charge as it was our honeymoon to a montain lanai room. It was superb. Lovely decor and the bed was the comfiest I have ever slept on. Bathroom was lovely also, luxury toiletries provided were useful and the nightly turndown service (which all rooms receive) was a nice touch, new towels twice a day and nothing too much trouble for any of the staff.

Beach is lovely and private with not too many people about. The service to you at the beach side by the waiters is very good.

Food at the plumeria and Hoku's is excellent, I would reccomend the Chicken at hoku's it was very tasty.

Shuttle service (FREE) to waikiki is very convieient and operates regularly through the day until evening, which is good for getting into waikiki for an evening meal at one of the less expensive eateries. You can come back to the hotel on the last bus at about 8:45.

Cant wait to go back, this place is fantastic !

Our stay at the Kahala Hotel was simply amazing. We were there for 8 days and 7 nights. There was nothing less than EXCELLENT service every day of our stay there. The room was large and luxurious. The roomy lanai was the perfect size for putting up your feet and indulging in the gorgeous view. The beach was pretty private and quiet. The breakfast buffet at the Plumeria House was divine-well, just watch out for the birds if your sitting outside. The location was exactly what we were looking for. It was secluded and away from the hustle and bustle of Waikiki.

Travel Tip for the frugal: Buy an Entertainment book for Hawaii before your trip. Buy one get one free meals/tours make a serious difference if you're on a buget. Not that anyone that stays at the Kahala is likely to be on one, but hey, it's a tough economy right now! It never hurts to show a little prudence with money.

PS-We thought Hoku's(The Hotel's premiere restaurant) was a little overrated. We got the Prime Rib for 2 and were pretty disappointed.

Over all, it is a great hotel and we will definitely come back for our anniversaries!
