“gotta hike it.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 12, 2012

Well it is a long hike from Waikiki hotels around Diamond Head by the lighthouse and up into the crater to the top. But it is great. Nice views and 5 hours total time. I hiked back to Waikiki...but there is a bus as well.

“Diamond Head”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 12, 2012

Be prepared for this hike. Not recommended for people with heart conditions or physical handicaps. There are no restrooms on top. The average hike takes about 1 1/2 hours to and from. Take water with you and a camera. Once you reach the top, it is very well worth it. No where will you see Waikiki with such beauty. Do nottake heels. Take walking shoes!!! Be prepared for a gradual ascend to the top.

“Diamond Head Hike”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 12, 2012

Pretty strenuous for us old guys so beware. The WW ll gun emplacements at the height of the peak were awesome. I didn't even know they were there despite having been stationed on Oahu 30 years ago. The trail is in fair shape, but needs refurbishment after the busy summer.

“Definitely Worth the Hike”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 11, 2012

It wasn't easy and it was hot, but it was worth the effort. The view at the top was awesome as were other spots along the way. Having a guide made it more special because Rana was very knowledgeable about the island and the history of military involvement at Diamond Head.

Be sure to take lots of water and don't be afraid to sit and rest at each opportunity. No prizes are given to those who make it to the top faster.... :)
