“Very good tour, gives you feeling of sadness for those lost”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

Tried to book online, no tickets, spoke to hotel who called discover hawaii tours and we got set up by then.

Tickets very limited last minute so book in advance.

Trip was great, memorial to Arizona very good and quite sad to see all those names on the wall.

Not really a trip for young kids, bit horrified that despite a number of reminders in the cinema to turn phones off, there are still people that can't spare 22 mins of respect without having to text or check their phone, after all this is a memorial.

Interesting museum and bowfin visit, makes you appreciate how submariners had to live.

Not much choice for food in the park, so make sure you eat and drink beforehand.

“Pearl Harbor and the USS Missouri”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

When you visit Honolulu, HI you must go to the Pearl Harbor Pacific National Monument. Visit the USS Missouri and all the sites there. It really puts you in touch with history. I'm a history buff and when I took my children then my grand-children to this historic site it made it all come to life and they then knew history and what our military and ancestors have gone through.

“A must see when on Oahu”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

This where WWII started for the USA when Japan attacked. A historical monument. Entry is free but come early as it gets often quite crowded and there maybe a wait for the movie and boat trip to the Arizona. From Waikiki take bus #42 or #20 both will take you right there for $2.50 each way and $1 for 65+ (with Medicare Card). Security is strict, no bags or backpacks.

“A Must-See with Kids”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

Although my kids (14, 12, 9, and 5) moaned a bit about visiting a museum while at the beach, they understood the significance and were fascinated with the museums. The park service has done a really nice job with the exhibits and all of us were enthralled. If you want to take the ferry to the USS Arizona memorial, I recommend getting tickets online through the park service, well before you go. I tried several weeks prior and they were sold out online already. They have tickets (free) available when you arrive, but the are for a later time in the day. For example, we arrived at 8 AM and the tickets we were given were for 11:45 AM. That was too long to wait.

“Beware....wind can ruin your trip!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

We ordered tix online beforehand, which I highly recommend. After we toured the USS Missouri, which was a must, we went to get our audio equipment for the USS Arizona. The tour helper didn't tell us the ferry shuttle to the memorial was cancelled due to wind at that time. We went to the short film before boarding and that's when we were told it was cancelled. The one thing we were looking forward to this vacation, we missed out on. Our 17 yr. old son was so disappointed he went to the ticket counter to see if we could exchange the tix for the submarine exhibit and they just gave him the run around. And never gave him the time of day.
