“history, beauty, and rememberance”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 18, 2014

This site alone was the reason Hawaii is on our bucket list. even with an amazing 12 days in Oahu and Maui this was the most striking, bold, and somber place we saw. It was a sunny day and yet you could still feel the heavy in the air :( It's a must do.

Practicalities: book online ahead of time. it guarantees you a time and a slot and only costs like $1 per person. If staying in waikiki, just take the Bus (public). I think it's bus #42 (says uss arizone on the bus listing). It's $2.50 each, takes about an hour in total and is very relaxing, drops you right off in front of the visitor center. you line up for your tour, watch a moving 20 minute video, then take the boat out to the memorial itself. check out the oil sitting on top of the water (leaking still from teh sunken Arizona).

This is a very special place that everyone should visit. Allow a min. of 3-4 hrs. Purchase the self-guided audio tour.

“Reflection”

Completely humbled and amazed at the significance of this memorial. A must see for anyone of any age!! Well narrated, respectful and plenty of time to capture the true significance of the sacrifice made so many years ago.

“Very touching! ”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 17, 2014

Words can't explain the tragedy that took place. Each time I visit the memorial, I experience and see something new. The entire memorial pays tribute to so many lives lost at the battle, time is a must to see everything. I suggest arriving early and spend at least a half day.

“The Arizona”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 17, 2014

Thanks for the simple reminder to the visitors; "This is a time and a place to reflect." And so it is. And some need to be reminded, from time to time. Thanks to the enlisted people who serve at this place.
