I just returned from a 2 night stay at the Samuel Durfee House. My boyfriend and I spent our birthday weekend together. The location was wonderful. One block up from the restaraunts and bars and a few blocks from Bowman's and Bannister's wharf. Off the street parking. Room was great. We asked for the Ida Turner room which also had a private balcony which was perfect for a brisk fall morning. Bed was comforable, room was spacious. Michael and Heather are wonderful. Baked goodies in the afternoon were a treat when coming back to the room to relax before heading out for dinner. Excellent coffee. Innkeepers provided us with directions and information on resturants and things to do, directions. The were very friendly and their son, Jaxson, was also a great host with serving breakfast. Breakfasts were fantastic! Normally, would have kept us full to dinner, but we were on vacation and eating and drinking well beyond normal. A special treat was that Heather and Michael left cupcakes in our room and a birthday message for us on our second day. So sweet. Can't wait to come back here and will recommend to all family and friends. Convenient, charming, and great hospitality.
