“A Perfect Gem in a most BeautifulTown”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 23, 2010

Having just completed a 3 night stay at this Inn, I can truthfully give it a 5 star rating. It was simply the most perfect place to stay in Newport.Once inside the home, you quickly get the feeling that you are in Newport, a town of elegance and beauty. The house feels very much like a typical Newport mansion, with large grand rooms filled with period furniture and artwork. The guestrooms are large and nicely appointed. The location is also great,as we walked to everything, dinner, the mansions, the stores, the cliffwalk, all just a 15 min walk away. The 2 hosts are the nicest people you could ask for, both sweet, informative, caring. The best thing about this place was the EXCELLENT breakfast served tableside daily.Full breakfasts that would be the envy of Martha Stewart. We had stuffed french toast with creamcheese, topped with blueberries and a berry compote, eggs encased in bacon, german pancakes stuffed with apples, homemade muffins, fruit, coffee, and juice. The most tasteful meals you will ever experience.I wish I could have stayed longer,as 4 days in Newport is not enough time to see the town.I am already planning a return trip this fall. Can't wait to see Nick and Brian again.

I've been to Newport a number of times & have stayed at the Architect's Inn twice over the past 2 years--once with some friends and once with my parents. Both times were really wonderful. Nick and Brian could not have been more friendly or hospitable. The house itself is on a lovely residential street and within easy walking distance to pretty much everything. The property is quiet and relaxing. During both visits, the rooms were clean, comfortable and had charming character. The breakfasts were delicious. I cannot believe anyone would write a negative review about this B&B but then again I guess you can't please everyone, right? I do have to say--the previous TA reviewer who said Nick or Brian stole 5-10 minutes of their time sounds like the type of person I would like to run away from--that is just an absurd statement--they were so much fun to talk to. I would definitely recommend this B&B to anyone!

My husband and I decided to spend a night at Architect's Inn to celebrate an early anniversary (we are expecting our first child on our actual anniversary next month). We could not have enjoyed our stay more. The room (Belmont Room) was very romantic and peaceful (surrounded by trees on the outside). Nick met us at the door and seemed genuinely excited we were there. After checking us into our room, he gave us a tour of the Inn (amazing rooms). He had so many helpful suggestions on where to go and what to do. The following day, we were served breakfast on the outdoor veranda. It was one of the best meals we have ever eaten. It looked like a piece of art and tasted even better. Nick and Brian even made sure to have decaf coffee out since I am not supposed to have caffeine. Throughout the meal, Nick provided many interesting facts about the Inn and Newport. Although I spent four years in Newport for college, I learned so much from him. All in all, we wish we had more time to say at the Architect's Inn. We plan on returning again soon. Nick and Brian went above and beyond to make sure our stay was perfect!

My husband and I stayed at the Inn for a well needed weekend away and all of our expectations were met from entering the front door until we drove away!! The breakfasts were tremendous and Nick's conversation and suggestions for the areas attractions and events were very helpful! We will be back!!

We will remember the Architects Inn for a number of reasons. The beautiful bedroom with the comfiest bed ever & the gourmet breakfast. It is set in a quiet leafy road & yet only a mere 10minutes or so from shopping ,restaurants & a great cliff walk. Above all we will remember Nick the Innkeeper for his friendliness & obvious love of his town of which he has a great knowledge which he is very willing to impart. We stayed longer than we intended & wish it could have been longer still. Thank you Nick.

We enjoyed a great 3 days in Newport and loved our time at the Inn. Nick and Brian very welcoming. Beautifully decorated rooms and yet very homely atmosphere. The breakafsts were superb (and huge) and loved nick's informative chats .. would thoroughly recommend it to anyone passing though or planning a stay in Newport

If we could have stayed longer...well, we would have. We have never stayed at a B&B before and were very impressed with Architect's Inn. We were greeted by Nick when we got there and he gave us a lot of information about the Inn as well as the town. Nick is a gracious, friendly, and knowledgeable host. He also makes a great breakfast! Our room was spacious and the bed one of the most comfortable we have ever slept in. The location was good, close enough to walk most everywhere but set back far enough to feel quiet and peaceful. On our last morning we were talking about when we could come back!
