“One of the most enjoyable hotel stays I have ever experienced!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 week ago NEW

One of the finest hotels in which I have stayed. We had a beautiful suite which was impeccably serviced by our wonderful housekeeper. Turndown service included amazing brownie cookies! The staff was unfailingly kind and attentive, providing us every possible service. My daughter and I were spoiled rotten! I highly recommend the Vanderbilt Grace and cannot wait to return. Thank you all for a fabulous mother-daughter weekend!!

We visited Newport to see the mansions decorated for the holidays and enjoy some fresh seafood. Our stay at the Vanderbilt Grace added to our memorable trip. From arrival to departure we enjoyed the warmth of a gracious and professional staff. We look forward to visiting again in the summer.

Room Tip: I suggest a junior suite for added comfort.

My wife and I stayed at the Vanderbilt at the end of October. On arriving at the hotel the creating was very professional, but friendly. We were offered a drink and a very informative introduction to Newport. We were in what I believe is one of their state rooms. The room was very clean and in excellent decorative order. The ensuite bathroom ditto. The bed was extremely comfortable. My only minor comment on the room was that there was to a great deal of drawer space. We ate in the hotel one night, and enjoyed it. As it was the end of October the hotel was quiet, as was Newport. However, as the weather was warm and sunny, for that time of year, we felt that we had the best of both worlds, no crowds and a very pleasant few days in a very pleasant town.

As soon as you enter this magnificent hotel you know you are in for a treat. The staircase is gorgeous, the staff are friendly and helpful, and the amenities are plentiful. The building itself has been renovated, but many of the original features have been preserved. We opted for a large Junior suite. This was a corner room with soaring ceilings, separate sitting area, refrigerator, microwave, Keurig, huge windows, and a king bed. The bath had double sinks, and a fabulous rain shower. Homemade cookies are delivered to the room with nightly turn down service. The common areas are spacious. Drinks can be delivered just about anywhere in the hotel. There is a rooftop deck which was still open in November, indoor and outdoor pool, conservatory for breakfast and lunch, and a lovely garden area. All of this is very conveniently situated just a few blocks from the mansions on Bellevue Avenue, and the restaurants on Thames Street. Do not miss the opportunity to dine at Muse while staying at Vanderbilt Grace. It is a wonderful experience.

Room Tip: Splurge on a Junior suite or a corner room.

I took advantage of Newport Restaurant Week to enjoy a wonderful lunch at The Vanderbilt Grace and was literally overwhelmed by the phenomenal service I received! WOW! is an understatement! As a current resident of Newport, I've been "under"whelmed by the lack of customer service and attention to detail in most topnotch establishments in this wonderful city. This was definitely NOT the case at The Vanderbilt Grace! Our server, Ariel was simply THE BEST! From making direct eye contact with us EVERY time she came to the table, to going out of her way to serve us hot tea at the fireplace, she was ON TOP OF IT and I just couldn't ask for more! Thank you for a most memorable experience! I will definitely be back!

Just returned from a weekend getaway at the Vanderbilt Grace and cannot wait to go back. It was our first trip to Newport and we found it to be such a quaint city with much to do and delicious food. The Vanderbilt Grace was a highlight. It is centrally located and a few steps into town. The service was impeccable, from the porters, to the concierge, and wait staff. Everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful, and we were always greeted with a smile. We had 2 spa treatments which were wonderful. We ate a delicious breakfast in the conservatory and ordered late night snacks from room service. I can only imagine the food at Muse to be impeccable. The attention to details was very appreciated, from the cookies on our nightstand at turn down service, to the bottles of water left in our car for the trip home. Can't wait to try more Grace Hotels!

Room Tip: We stayed in a duplex, but I think a regular room might be more practical.

Our stay at the Vanderbilt Grace was magical and exceeded our expectations. The staff was amazing and the customer service and comfort was over the top. Our 2 children ages 8 & 10 were equally as thrilled and treated as young gentlemen by the exceptional staff. Our 2 story room was comfortable and quite contemporary for this older yet renovated building. The hotel has a roof top bar and the view is stunning-especially on a clear night! It is located within walking distance to town and great restaurants, and the concierge will happily make excellent recommendations or reservations for you. The staff is always available to cater to your every need and each one had their own particular charming personality and an uncanny ability to make things extra special on every level. We enjoyed a lovely tea service on the day we were leaving and the valet stocked our car with bottles water in every cup holder for our journey home......we'll be back!!
