“The place is nice but if you don't dress attire they treat you like crap.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 6, 2014 via mobile

I got married here, and every year on this day We go for lunch or dinner, but this year we didn't dress attire as usual and the manager looked at us as if we didn't belong there, and to the bar we were sent. There was no table for four since I decided to bring my two kids with us, and so the small round tables were put together by the manager after I complain that didn't fit us all. I felt like leaving the place for good. Maybe if I had high heels and left my kids at home I would be having dessert in the empty dinning area. Sad and disappointed.

“Make sure you eat first!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 28, 2013

all inclusive 5 course dinner left us hungry and craving hot fudge sundaes! service and timing was lacking for a gourmet dinner. also, waited too long for initial greeting upon seating and arrival of first drink.

“Memorable, upscale dining experience with top notch service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 22, 2013 via mobile

This restaurant made our evening in Newport special and memorable. Very creative menu with interesting flavors and beautiful presentation. Pricey but worth it for a special occasion. Our waiter Monte was very personable, knowledgeable, passionate, accommodating and a fabulous spokesperson for the restaurant (encouraging us to come back in summer to experience their outdoor dining and lovely views).

“Beautiful & Historic”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 4, 2013

We enjoyed lunch here during Newport Restaurant Week. It was a 3 course prix fixe menu for $35 per person and certain options had a $5 or more supplement. For our first course most of us chose the mussels which were delicious and included in the prix fixe price. One member of our group had the lobster and clam chowder for a surcharge and said it was very good but he expected it to be less of a bisque and more like a chowder. Several chose the Cobb Salad as the main course and said it was delicious. My sister and husband ordered the grass fed burger and my sister's came out undercooked 2 times. On the third try the management comped her meal because of the problems although even the third time it still wasn't right. I had the lobster roll which was delicious and also had a surcharge but was worth it. The portions were very large for lunch. Those of us that had room for dessert had the incredible bread pudding which was fabulous. Service was excellent and our lunch was a leisurely 1.5 hours. We then went outside to sit on the Adirondack chairs with the complimentary blankets on our laps and enjoyed the beautiful water view surrounding the entire property on a glorious fall day!
