We stayed the week of Feb. 18-24. We had an updated room and were very pleased with almost all aspects of the room. We had a two bedroom unit, with one bedroom being downstairs and the master bedroom being upstairs, along with the kitchen/den area. It was actually nicer and larger than we expected and we had a nice view of the water from the den. Each bedroom had a large flatscreen TV (42 inches) and also another in the Den. The beds and bedding were super comfy with nice, fluffy pillows. The bathrooms were also nice with granite countertops. I have two small complaints about the rooms - the wi-fi is weak and if I left my computer for 5 minutes, I would have to re-connect to the wi-fi. Second compaint is the noise level from adjoining rooms. It was almost unbearable at times. We almost had to call to complain, but I guess this also depends on who are your neighbors.
The indoor/outdoor pool is heated, but not enough to my liking. I would guess it is maybe 75 degrees? And the pool is rather small with tons of kids splashing around - which is fine. There was also an indoor and an outdoor jacuzzi - which is where I hung out while our girl was swimming. You can also have a beer/drink there without any hassle - as long as it isn't glass.
I understand the 1 car per room rule as the parking seems to be limited, but, the municipal parking deck is right beside the property, so I imagine you could park a second car there if needed.
2 mentions which have absolutley nothing to do with the resort, but I felt I shoud share - the Seal tour is a waste of time and money. You motor out for 20 minutes or so to view a few seals on a rock, but you have to stay at least 150ft away per law, so it was hard to really see anything in detail. Then you sit there for approx 10 minutes watching them do nothing. Then return to the dock. All for $20pp. Waste of time and money in my opinion. On the other hand.......touring the mansions was incredible. They had three open this time of year - Breakers, Elms and Marble House. I highly recommend taking this self-guided tour and I recommend taking your time and listening to the alternate recorded options when provided. You can get tickets at the Visitors Information Center, which is right beside the resort. We will definitely return!
Try to get an updated room.
