“Nice for a short stay”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 11, 2013

Decent location in Newport with good views of the water from rooms in the "annex" building. Very odd set up with registration around the corner and most amenities located in the registration building location (i.e. pool) which entails a walk in what can be less than ideal weather. Single bedroom unit is small but functional with a well equipped kitchenette. Bathrooms have been nicely updated. As others have noted, it is not very well marked so it can be difficult to identify. Desk personnel are pleasant and helpful.

The hotel is very clean and organized well. I stayed in a 2 bedroom suite with a kitchen and living/dining room for a very good price. the view is beautiful and you are right next to the water, service is great and if you like to get a drink there is a bar next to the hotel, the name is "celtica"
(nachos are great) and you can take a nice walk on the docks and i strongly encourage you to go to the famous white horse tavern it is AMAZING! the best time to go to Newport is in the summer so you can take the lighthouses tour and also take the tour of the mansions. my favorites are the marbles and the breakers.

Room Tip: If you go in the fall make sure your windows are closed. mine was open and it gets pretty cold in th...

Spent a Saturday night with my wife and 7 year old son in a 2BR Deluxe. The staff at check-in were very friendly and answered all of the questions that I had. She directed me to the best spot to park to get easiest access to our room. The room was right off the elevator, but was not as loud as we thought it would be. The room was very clean and had a nice flow to it. We had the master bedroom with a master suite and a second bedroom that had two twin beds. The second bathroom was located off the kitchen and the lving/dining area. The only complaint would be that the toilet in the second bathroom was not very accessible if you needed to be seated. This was even the case for the 7 year old as the toliet was too close to the wall.

The pool and hot tubs were great. They had an indoor and outdoor pool and hot tub. They were a litttle crowded, but if you wait your turn, you can completely enjoy the hot tubs. They used to have a little water slide in the past, but they have since taken that out. There is also a sauna near the indoor pool and a 24 hour fitness center. The location of the resort is a close walk to the downtown area.

We spent two nights here during February vacation. with five kids and two adults. The two bedroom condo was very nice although cozy. Very clean and quiet. The pool is the highlight along with the hot tubs. You can swim from the pool inside to the pool outside. The hotel is in a quiet area but easy access to all of downtown. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Room Tip: Ask for the townhouse style condos in the renovated section.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 24, 2013

We stayed the week of Feb. 18-24. We had an updated room and were very pleased with almost all aspects of the room. We had a two bedroom unit, with one bedroom being downstairs and the master bedroom being upstairs, along with the kitchen/den area. It was actually nicer and larger than we expected and we had a nice view of the water from the den. Each bedroom had a large flatscreen TV (42 inches) and also another in the Den. The beds and bedding were super comfy with nice, fluffy pillows. The bathrooms were also nice with granite countertops. I have two small complaints about the rooms - the wi-fi is weak and if I left my computer for 5 minutes, I would have to re-connect to the wi-fi. Second compaint is the noise level from adjoining rooms. It was almost unbearable at times. We almost had to call to complain, but I guess this also depends on who are your neighbors.
The indoor/outdoor pool is heated, but not enough to my liking. I would guess it is maybe 75 degrees? And the pool is rather small with tons of kids splashing around - which is fine. There was also an indoor and an outdoor jacuzzi - which is where I hung out while our girl was swimming. You can also have a beer/drink there without any hassle - as long as it isn't glass.
I understand the 1 car per room rule as the parking seems to be limited, but, the municipal parking deck is right beside the property, so I imagine you could park a second car there if needed.
2 mentions which have absolutley nothing to do with the resort, but I felt I shoud share - the Seal tour is a waste of time and money. You motor out for 20 minutes or so to view a few seals on a rock, but you have to stay at least 150ft away per law, so it was hard to really see anything in detail. Then you sit there for approx 10 minutes watching them do nothing. Then return to the dock. All for $20pp. Waste of time and money in my opinion. On the other hand.......touring the mansions was incredible. They had three open this time of year - Breakers, Elms and Marble House. I highly recommend taking this self-guided tour and I recommend taking your time and listening to the alternate recorded options when provided. You can get tickets at the Visitors Information Center, which is right beside the resort. We will definitely return!

Room Tip: Try to get an updated room.

We just finished a wonderful week long visit to Wyndham Long Wharf Resort.
The room we were given was beautiful. 2 bedroom. 2 Bathroom. Newly renovated. With 2 flat screen TVs.
Despite the cold weather, we swam outside in the heated pool and hot tub.
The room was clean, as was the entire resort.
The staff was friendly and accommodating.

Could not have asked for a better, "extra holiday!" We were celebrating our second wedding anniversary and enjoyed the outdoor pool despite the temperatures being in the 20's. It was just amazing! Renovations are coming along nicely, love the dark wood in the kitchen area.
