“Great food at reasonable prices”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 21, 2014

We had a 20 minute wait for lunch at 2 PM! You can imagine how popular this place is. A wide variety of foods including a salad bar that has the soup of the day. Extra friendly staff to help you with the huge menu. Great drinks.

“Good pub fare”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2014

Overall really a step up from standard pub fare. We had steak and blue salad, sirloin steak and tuna. The tuna was perfectly cooked. My daughter said it was better than the tuna she had at Scales and Shells. My salad was good. My husband said his steak was good. He though the mushrooms and beets from the salad bar seemed like canned. The blackberry sangria was great--not too sweet. I found it odd that there were no prices on
the drink menu. My daughter enjoyed the chocolate chip cookie pie, and the frozen mudslides were well done.

“Great spot!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 19, 2014

On a recent trip to Newport we visited this establishment by recommendation and a rave review. My husband and I were not disappointed! Food was spectacular, service was great, the drinks were even better. By far one of the best salad bars! Making this spot a must each time we visit Newport from now on!

“Delicious food in a friendly atmosphere, near the harbor”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 19, 2014

We were back in the area visiting family, and had to revisit this favorite. I am always impressed with a place that has a wide menu selection, but does everything with real talent in the kitchen and a friendly, professional staff.

Let me first sing the praises of perhaps the best clams known to man: the Portugese littlenecks, made with chourico, onions, and other flavors. The New England clam chowder is also one of the best around.

The menu is large and wide and should be able to please anyone. The options range for excellent seafood, starters, main dish and side salads, main dish plates (includes salad and potato), steaks, chicken, burgers, pizzas, etc. Tex-Mex items, too. And amazingly -- they are all winners -- not easy to do with this range and selection.

This time, we dined with friends at lunch and focused on sandwich-type items, but of course had to start with chowder and the excellent Portugese little necks. The lobster roll is a classic, but my husband ventured into new territory -- a delicious lobster reuben! (Just like it sounds -- removed the brisket, insert lobster. The kraut did not overpower.) I had the fish tacos, which baked the fish, not fried, which was a nice change and delish.

As full a bar as you will see anywhere, including many single malt scotches. Very deep, well-chosen wine list has many options by the glass. Unfortunately, it was a little early for this.

The place knows how to keep on-trend: there is a large selection of gluten-free items, main dish salads, etc. There is also a serve-yourself salad bar that can be ordered on its own or as an add-on to a sandwich or other item.

The service is friendly, helpful, and professional.

The atmosphere is casual in both the dining room and pub area, the latter being packed with assorted memorabilia from Rhode Island.

The prices are very reasonable for the excellent, with most main courses with salad/sides in the $20-$30 range.

Lots of good bar snack options too, besides the starters, such as a cheese and fruit plate.

Really, if you are not sure what people in your party want to eat, they will be very happy here.
