“Nice upscale restaurant on the water”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2013

A reliable seafood oriented restaurant on the water in the heart of the wharf area. One of our favorite spots to take visitors from out of town.

“Awesome Atmosphere, Service and Food!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2013

We made the last minute decision to cancel our reservations elsewhere and then try to figure out where to go... LUCKILY my husband picked this restaurant.
Even on a busy Saturday night of a holiday weekend we were seated immediately with an AMAZING view of the harbor.
The food and service were great and when they found out it was our honeymoon we got a delicious chocolate sample dessert that my husband picked.
Definitely recommend for the overall experience - casual or fancy dress but either way you felt welcomed.

“Great anytime but especially for lunch!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2013

Newport has a lot of wonderful restaurants but very few with a view of the harbor. We love lunch at the Moorings back deck. My husband and I enjoy two of their dishes so much that we don't try some of the other great choices enuf. I love their appetizer mussels which is a very generous portion and an ample lunch for one. Each year they seem to vary the preparation a bit and every year it is delicious. My husband loves an open faced turkey sandwich topped with a fried egg. Service is very good, drinks a little expensive.
Highly recommend the Moorings.

“Excellent Tourist-Trap”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2013

This is the place to go if you're in Newport. Sure it's a tourist trap, but you ARE a tourist, so what the heck. It turned out to be an excellent meal, starting from the 'must have' clam chowder to the perfectly cooked local fish to the super-rich chocolate dessert. Service is friendly and efficient. During our visit a water glass was broken - about 5 staffers descended upon the broken glass and had it cleaned, swept, mopped, and dried in less than 5 minutes. It is packed almost every night, so make a reservation to get a window table - nice view of the boats docked in the harbor.
