Old and dark inside, and maybe not the most inspired menu in the world, but food is consistently good, and the chowder is the best. Sitting on the patio is a nice option in the summer (but the menu is limited). The commodore's room (in the back) is fancier, with a different menu. More expensive, but food is outstanding. And there is also the hot dog annex outside if you don't feel like waiting.
