A visit to the International Tennis Hall of Fame and Museum is a pleasurable experience. Definitely rent the guided audio tour as it is FULL of extra information -- I wish you could actually download a print version to follow along on a smart phone! It explains the back story of many exhibits and is a perfect addition to the self-guided walk through the museum.
Each area has interactive spots, so don't miss them. Tennis is depicted through history with the halls ending at a large screen that shows live tennis from somewhere in the world on the Tennis Channel.
There is so much to see that you would likely want to return at a later date.
We left the museum inspired and awed. The grounds are interesting even off season (we went in early November). Everything is displayed with adequate lighting, descriptive signage and more history than you might even think was possible in the space.
Staff was helpful and the entire morning we spent was as enjoyable a time as we've had in a long time. Additionally, that kids 16 and under are free is an added bonus. With admission at $12 per adult, the visit was a bargain, too. Plenty of visits to museums today are twice that fee, and count kids at 16 as adults. This made the museum affordable for our family, too, which was a big help budget-wise.
We look forward to returning to this museum again and to attending events there in the summer season, as well.
Don't miss it!
