“Mexican fusion in Newport”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 10, 2012

Typically most Mexican food is affordable, not here, but wait, it's worth it. I enjoyed a lobstah quesadilla and my wife had a lobstah salad dish, both were unique, tasty and creative. Try to visit with a coupon (dining club card, during Newport's restaurant week, etc). Overall, great experience.

Funky little spot serving up inventive takes on familiar Mexian dishes. Great Rangoon. Awesome Guacamole! Nice Burrito...fish tacos are pretty tasty. Varied menu sure to please.

“Unbelievable Mexican food!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 4, 2012 via mobile

This is not your average Mexican food. Unbelievable mix of spicey and sweet. You won't find your standard burrito. I had the Diego seafood platter. A huge Tuna steak with a great bean and tomatotillas salsa. WOW! The only issue are the tiny metal tables. Very cramped!

Don't skip this place!!!!!!

“Great food, great service, nice surroundings”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 27, 2012

Had our rehearsal "brunch" here. They set everything up for us so nicely, very accommodating to the various requests of my guests. The food was excellent, recommend the smoked salmon quesadilla - excellent, and definitely try the Bloody Mary's! We'll be back!

“Excellent Mexican - and GREAT for Veg-Friendly Eaters”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 27, 2012

I've had lots of Mexican food and love this place. When I crave Mexican, I immediately think of Diego's. The restaurant itself is awesome, a great place to hang out, very casual (but you can also get away with being dressed up super fancy - it IS Newport after all). Really cool set up with the new heated outdoor area; great bar too. Very casual, hip, eclectic - a great spot for a date, a friend, or a group of people.

The food - This menu is huge! You almost hate it because it takes so long to decide and then you end up getting one of about six different things. Great appetizer list, always great specials, amazing entree salads, plus tons of traditional Mexican and nontraditional Mexican with a twist. Theres a great selection of entrees, seafood, meat and veg stuff. Holy homemade guacamole is a MUST!

The VEG-friendly food - Most amazing vegan Mexican I've had. There are many options, but they have this ridiculously good entree salad with crispy tofu, a huge deep fried tortilla bowl, avocado, hearts of palm, tomato, onion, jicama, and chipotle pomegranate dressing. Yes, wow! Also delicious is the grilled avocado, chips and 4-way salsa, and plenty other vegetarian options. They also have vegan cheese and make an amazing vegan nachos with it!

The DRINKS!!!!! Most creative drink menu in Newport. Every drink is made from some kind of infused something or other. Cinnamon-infused this, thyme-infused that, green-tea infused vodka, you name it. Try one of their many infused tequilas and to-die-for margaritas. Every drink is ridiculous, but I love the Cucumber Cooler and the Heminway Daicquiri. Mojitos too... er, all of their drinks. Plus drinks are offered by the pitcher! Que Magnifico!

Check their website too... they have specials nearly every night like trivia nights, food specials and drink pitchers nights, and other stuff..... Just go here!
