“Hotel or Wedding Hall???”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 8, 2012

My husband and I stayed here for two nights in Sept. 2012. Because it was our 30th Anniversary they had given us the Luxury Room for the price of the Deluxe. The room was lovely. The hotel is quite nice as well. A drink out on the patio overlooking a vast lawn and Narragansett Bay was a delight. Breakfast was good. We were worried about noise from a wedding being held there one night but there was none. The only problem is that the Oceancliff really concentrates on and makes it's money from being a wedding venue. Because of that it just feels as if regular hotel guests are kind of just add ons. Ice machine? No. Information about things to do in Newport? A few pamphlets but not much. We've never had that feeling in a hotel. Nevertheless we were happy to be there. It's a beautiful setting and we'd return.

Room Tip: I believe the top floor rooms are very small and this hotel doesn't use much a/c so may be very...

We hosted my son's and his bride's rehearsal dinner at Ocean Cliff. The New England clambake was absolutely delicious and wonderfully presented. The sales and catering staff were friendly, paid attention to detail and great to work with. Best of all, they helped us tremendously with a timing glitch (our error, not theirs) and I cannot thank the staff enough for handling this seamlessly! Had this not been resolved in the most competent manner, it could have been a HUGE problem! I cannot thank them enough!

Superb staff starting with our meetings with Jim Maher who went out of his way to make every detail of our daughter's wedding spectacular, it then continued with the outstanding care and organizational skills provided by Marissa, Kristina and Alyssa. I can not say enough about the unbelievable service provided by the Ocean Cliff staff.
Perfect setting for a wedding, ocean views, cool breezes, fantastic food and service. One could not ask for a better place. The day was then topped off with a beautiful rainbow and sunset on the Schooner Aurora. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There is no better place for ambiance, romance, spectacular views of the ocean, the coolest drinks (awesome espresso martini!) and a sense of privelege and well being than at the bar or on the manicured lawns at Oceancliff! This is a must visit, whether for a drink or gourmet eats...and ANYONE can enjoy it! AT LEAST ONCE THIS SUMMER--YOU HAVE TO GO!

We were married at the Oceancliff Hotel on 27th June 2012. After having researched the hotel on the internet, we chose the Oceancliff because of the promptness in responding to our e-mail enquiries, as we live in the U.K. Although our wedding party was small we were looked after extremely well. The staff were very professional, friendly and could not be more accommodating from the time of our arrival until we checked out. The location was superb with great views of the Narragansett Bay. We would highly recommend this hotel and look forward to returning.

Oceancliff represents what Newport is all about with stunning views of Narragansett Bay and old fashioned charm. The service is top notch and our needs and requests were always met with attentiveness to detail. The staff know what customers what and need and anticipate those before a guest ever has to ask. The location along the famous Ocean Drive provides an ideal spot to enjoy the sights and sounds of the ocean and you are far enough away from the traffic and congestion but still close enough to reach the tourist areas in a short few minutes. Overall, very satisfying experience.

Room Tip: Facing the ocean are the best
