“Perfect place to stay in Newport!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2013

We had a wonderful time in Newport and we couldn't have been happier with our stay at the Spring Street Inn! The inn is conveniently located and once you've parked your car in the inn's lot, you can walk or ride the trolley just about anywhere in Newport. Pat, our innkeeper, welcomed us warmly and offered us a wealth of information about Newport's attractions (make sure to visit the mansions!) and dining. Our room was comfortable and clean and decorated with antiques. Although our room was not huge, we made use of the living room that was right outside of our door for getting together with friends who were also guests at the Inn. We stayed two nights and each morning we were greeted with a delicious breakfast (different each day), with offerings such as fresh fruit, cheddar cheese omelets, ham and cheese quiche, fresh fruit waffles and crepes, breakfast potatoes, sausage, cereal, croissants, coffee cake, banana bread, buttermilk biscuits and the list goes on! Pat is a wonderful cook and a gracious host and she went to great lengths to make sure that we enjoyed our stay. Thanks, Pat, for a very lovely time!

Room Tip: We heard a little bit of noise from traffic at times during the night, but that is to be expected be...

The Spring Street Inn... What a wonderful BnB to stay at while visiting Newport. The location is a block off the main drag (Thames Street). There is parking which the BnB takes care of so your car is safe and sound from all the meters in town. Pat provided everything and more as an inn keeper and treated us with such kindness. The breakfasts are more than what is expected (Quiche, Sausage, Bacon, Eggs, Juice, Breads, Cereals, etc.) She leaves snacks in the afternoon as well. The rooms are very clean and cute - Provided new bath hygiene daily. Pat knows Newport and the areas restaurants, bars scene, tours, etc. like the back of her hand which was great bc. it was our first visit. I am excited to visit again and will def. be staying at the Spring Street Inn. Thanks so much from your friends in NYC on the UWS.

Room Tip: Garden room is slightly less expensive but none-the-less terrific. It is quiet and on the 3rd floor...

Location is prime. Pat is an amazing Inn Keeper. The best hospitality!! The rooms are amazing and the breakfasts are scrumptious. Love the communal table and meeting the other guests. Breakfasts are so much fun and informative chatting with Pat and the other guests. Can't wait to return.

My friends and I traveled to Newport for an annual Mom's retreat. I saw several Inns on Trip Advisor and planned on calling all 3. My 1st and last call was to The Spring Street Inn! I needed not call anyone else because I fell in love with Pat the innkeeper right away, and I knew this would be THE place! She is incredibly knowledgeable about the history of Newport and I could sit and listen to her for hours. We rented the top floor so it was like our own apartment...very clean and spacious and inviting, we even had our own little deck that overlooked the waterfront! The breakfasts were to die for...Pat is an amazing cook and can't do enough for us! In the late afternoon don't miss the Iced tea and cookies...another chance to hear from our cheery innkeeper friend and put your feet up! Whatever we needed she accommodated and we will cherish the memories forever.

Spring Street Inn is optimally located within walking distance to all the shops, restaurants, and historic sights. There is off-street parking for guests, which is a necessity in Newport and makes it easy for you to drive to mansions and then park back at the Inn to walk to the shops. Pat the owner is hospitable and helpful, providing instruction and information, as well as recommendations, for those new to Newport. And the breakfast was delicious, with both hot and cold choices. I'm a vegetarian and enjoyed fresh fruit and homemade breads. Wonderful! I came with my mother who has difficulty walking. We had an easy access, first floor room with a walk-in shower that made her trip so much easier. If we return to Newport, we will be returning to Pat!

Newport's Spring Street Inn is not to be missed! Beautiful New England inn in the heart of downtown colonial Newport, walking distance to absolutely everything Newport has to offer. Innkeeper Pat Golder is the heart of the inn. Her gourmet breakfasts will keep you filled until time for late afternoon cookies and lemonade. Her knowledge of Newport's restaurants & cuisines is as extensive as her knowledge of the city's history, sights, and activities. Pat is hospitality itself.
The conversations are as delightful as the beautiful & comfy rooms.

What had been planned as a one night stop-over became a three day stay... And we would certainly have stayed longer if we had not to fly back to Vienna, Austria. Everything about Spring Street Inn breathes the great hospitality of Pat, the innkeeper. The rooms are lovely and Pat's breakfast is nothing less than fantastic. We had the best omelet we have ever had! Pat is very knowledgable about Newport and its history and gave us a lot of recommendations on what to do and where to go and it was always good fun to talk to her!

We truly felt like home and will certainly return!
