“very busy”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 12, 2013

They had a good selection of maps and brochures, very important! They have a couple of desks to answer questions or to make reservations. One of the better visitor's centers I have been in.
But the parking there is fairly priced, but still too much.

“Great!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 11, 2013

Very very helpful, very very friendly, full of all kinds of information,
and at a great location - right at the beginning of town! Good starting point for a walking tour - IF - you can find parking - one of the main problems with Newport...

This visitor's center had a plethora of information, historical facts, tickets booths, friendly employees, and photo ops to make your visit to Newport a wonderful one. I enjoyed every minute.

“High Society”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 8, 2013

A visit to Newport must always begin with the Visitors Center located at 23 America’s Cup Avenue in Thames Street where absolutely everything a visitor needs to know about Newport Rhode Island is provided with the usual New England efficiently of helpful friendly staff. If working in a visitor center is for you, then these lucky staff have the dream job of providing information via maps and pictures of this most beautiful place. Known in America as the yachting capital of the world, Newport simply has everything other places can only dream of, with its sandy and rocky beaches, lively streets with fine restaurants and stylish shops, wonderful sunsets, amazing yachts and ten miles of palace style mansions, including tree lined Bellevue Avenue. Former summer homes of the Astor's and the Vanderbilt's and former visitors the Kennedys were also married here. Newport has it all, apparently called America's first resort, it is definitely worth a visit for a peak at true high society - cue song "who wants to be a millionaire?"...

“Worth the stop”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 7, 2013

Park in the garage next door and they will validate your parking for 30 minutes. Which is enough time for you to get lots of info and directions from the staff. There is also a reservation desk that you can book a room at the last minute. They have rooms from hotels that call during the day to fill the spots so you can get a really good rate.
