“Wonderful!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 2, 2013

Your admission includes the audio tour. There is a regular tour, as well as a family version. The tour generally takes about 35 minutes, but if you listen to all of the extra information and take your time looking around the house, it can easily take you an hour and a half. When visiting The Elms, make sure to look up. The ceilings are absolutely beautiful!

If you have the chance, take the Servant Life Tour. We took it before the audio tour. It lasted about an hour, and was well-worth the time and money. It was also interesting to see some of the main parts of the house (like the skylight) after learning about them on the Servant Life Tour.

We visited at Christmastime, but I would love to go back and see the house in the spring or summer. During warmer months, you can eat at the carriage house on the grounds here.

“Newport Getaway!”

Amazing pointsettia tree from floor to ceiling. Loved the gold piano in the ball room. Beautiful home. Should sanitize the tour equipment after each use.

A nice self guided tour (about 1 hour) to enjoy all decorated for Christmas! We loved the property and fun facts that the head sets provided.

“Magnificent House”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 16, 2012

This house is beautiful at any time of year but really shines at Christmas time. The headphone tour really adds a lot to the overall experience. Well worth the rather steep price.

“Servants Quarters are interesting”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 8, 2012

This is the only mansion that shows behind the scenes of the servants. Well worth the time. Contrasts sharply the exorberant lifestyle of the owner and the humble lifestyles of the servants.
