“Not my favorite”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 31, 2012

This Mansion was still beautiful but not as worth it as Breakers, Rosecliff or Marble house. The staff was quite rude and not very informative. The house itself was well kept just not that interesting

“Take the Servant Life Tour”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 18, 2012

The Servant Life Tour is well worth the additional cost. It was nice to see how the other half lived during the Gilded Age. It is a guided tour with access to areas of the house most don't get to see. Plus a very awesome view from the roof.

“Very impressive!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 18, 2012

This house is very opulent. Gold everywhere - it’s all very impressive. Take the time to listen to all the extras on your headset as you tour this house. The tidbits you learn are well worth the extra time. You can purchase a ticket to see only one or two houses and then “upgrade” and pay the difference if you decide to tour more. And the nice thing is that you don’t have to visit all the houses in one day, which would be overwhelming.

“Interesting”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 17, 2012

The tour of the house was self guided, you are provided with headsets that provide information about the family and the house. The house is beautiful and worth seeing.

“Interesting house”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 12, 2012

The servants tour is particularly interesting and well worth the small additional fee. No refreshment facilities when we visited. A notable absence on all the mansion tours, a missed opportunity!
