Myself, my partner and two friends, all in our 20s, stayed at the Comfort Suites Downtown Buffalo from Friday, November 29th to Saturday November 30th and absolutely loved our stay.
We arrived at our hotel an hour and a half ahead of check-in, as we thought that we might hit some Black Friday traffic at the border, and to our surprise, we were able to check-in early. The woman at the counter was super friendly and helpful, and you could tell that she loved her job. We had booked 2 rooms through Hotwire, about 2 weeks prior to our trip, and that didn't seem to be a problem whatsoever. We were even happier to find out that we had adjoining rooms! We were given 2 room cards per room and stayed on the 2nd floor.
The hotel is very small, quite convenient actually, as we never had to wait for the elevator. Our rooms were a mirror image of each other, each with a bathroom, living room, and a queen-sized bedroom. The rooms are nicer than they look in the photos, for sure. There was a tv in each room of the suite and considering we were traveling as a group, it was way better to have the living room, as opposed to the straight bedroom, as we were able to hang out on couches instead of beds.
Each room came with a coffee maker, fridge, microwave, desk, charging station, and mini-bar area. There were working hair dryers, make-up remover sheets, and toilettries in the bathroom. The bed itself was soooooo comfy - I basically melted in to bed and didn't wake up until it was time to go. There are frosted french doors to the bedroom, as well as a door to the bathroom on each side.
We got up for breakfast at around 9:30 and it was pretty packed, but we were able to find some food and bring it back to our rooms. There was fruit, oatmeal, bread, yogurt, cereal, and waffles, but the waffle line was large and we didn't want to wait.
We parked our car about a 5 minute walk away and it was $10 for the entire stay - and we were free to move it in and out throughout. The trolley at night is free, and although we did not take it, it was very convenient to get on from this hotel. T.G.I. Friday's is downstairs and was convenient for a nightcap during the cold weather - drinks were CHEAP. Other than a few little cheap places to eat around there, there were some clubs open and that was about it. Not the craziest of nightlifes there, but the area is called "Downtown" for a reason - definitely the business section of the city.
The staff throughout our stay, at check-in, throughout the night, breakfast, and upon departure, were very friendly and it really set the tone for the stay. The staff should be commended for their wonderful job at making us feel very welcomed.
I'd definitely stay here when in Buffalo again and look forward to it!
