Friendliest hotel staff I've ever encountered (front desk and bell men, inconsistent bartenders though). The room was nice in a plain way like the rest of the hotel, but the neighborhood was sketchy like all places around Main St. It was close enough to Chippewa for bars/restaurants. They do the best they can in a run-down area and I'd stay there again - if I was attending a convention at the connected Convention Center. I did call Friday night with a very leaky shower and was told someone would be right up - they never showed by the time I left Sunday. I finally realized it was my error for not turning a knob in that was hard to turn. I could not call down to the front desk on the room phone since I did not read the sheet the front desk gave me (until again I checked out) about calling "56" instead of hitting the front desk button, which only disconnected me. This was all a bit weird to me, but probably cuts down on the complainers calling the front desk. And the fitness room was well above average.

Nice hotel. New rooms. State of the art gym. Great staff.

After reading some of the comments here I was a bit worried. Reserved our rooms through Priceline and only paid $40 for the night. We were on a two day shopping trip. Called hotel in advance to request one room be feather-free and change to bed selection as Priceline only booked two king rooms. Hotel staff was very accomodating and made appropriate notes.

Was worried so I showed up early to check in. Got to the hotel around 2 p.m. One room wasn't quite ready but the front desk offered to keep our luggage behind the counter while we shopped. Left the luggage and went shopping.

When we returned from shopping around 7pm. the front desk was very helpful. Jimmy was amazing. He changed us to adjoining rooms since the other clerk did not think to do that for us. He then sent someone up to remove the feather bedding and pillows. About half an hour later the phone rang and it was Jimmy asking if everything was satisfactory with the room. He asked if we needed a small fridge or microwave as we had young kids. Again....amazing that he would think to offer this service. He sent up a small fridge with no charge and asked if we needed an extra cot.

And the first clerk had offered to give us free internet access but we did not need it. Wifi didn't work in the lobby and didn't bother trying it in the locations he said would work.

Overall I was quite impressed with the service at this hotel. The two rooms we had were new and clean. Everything from the carpet to the bathrooms looked as if it was recently renovated. Noticed a slight smoke scent in the morning but assumed it was someone from another room smoking in the bathroom. Smell was coming from the vent.

I would definitely recommend and stay at this hotel again.

The Hyatt Buffalo was decent hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful during the entire trip. They were helpful with directions and giving information about places to eat in the area.

The rooms were nice - comfortable beds, iron, hair dryer, and wonderful pillows.

The city bus (a little sketchy) is about a half mile away and you can get to Niagara Falls for $4.00 round trip on a day pass.

My only complaint was that they charge $10.00 a day for slow internet in your room. There is free wifi in the lobby, but it isn't very fast either.
