“Good location but...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 30, 2012

Having stayed in different Holiday Inn Hotels a little everywhere in North America and in Europe, this hotel in Buffalo was one my least favorite.
Despite a great and professional service offered by the receptionist on duty at the time of my arrival, the rest of the stay was pretty disappointing.
To start, the restaurant and bar were closing at 10:00pm .On a Saturday night, I find it a bit early, no chance to get a drink past this time.
The room was OK overall, nice and comfy bed, a clean bathroom showing some signs of age.
The coffee tray didn't have any sugar nor stir stick and there was just one half-open tea bag. Compared with other Holiday Inn Hotels, this was pretty disappointing.
1- The room (701) is located at the very end of the corridor, right beside the Delaware Avenue. The noise insulation was almost nonexistent at the point that I thought that the window was a little open when I arrived in the room. You could hear the traffic in the Avenue all night, especially when the road is icy and car tires cracking on the ice.
2- To add to the noise, I had a pretty noisy neighbor, talking and laughing loudly on the phone for a good 45min till 12:15am.
3- A very noisy plumbery that you could be easily awaken when someone is flushing the toilet or taking a bath.
Walls and ceiling seem to be thin as cigarette paper !

The breakfast (simple but nice) was graciously offered by the hotel for the inconvenience of the restaurant and bar closed at 10:00pm the previous night.

This is one of the hotels that unfortunately I will hesitate to come back unless I can get a much quieter room.

Room Tip: Don't take the room 701 unless street and plumbery noises are not an issue for you.

“Not bad..but could use additional attention to details”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 12, 2012

The number one attribute is the location. Right in the heart of downtown. This is an average hotel. Not bad not good. The rooms are showing signs of age. They all could use a GOOD cleaning. Rugs need deep cleaning. Bathrooms are not the cleanest. Bed was comfortable. TV had lots of channels. Internet worked fine for Youtube or Hulu or Netflix, but at times would get bogged down. Road noise was VERY present. I normally have ear plugs and would recommend them. Food is good, no problems with the cooking. Good coffee shop in the lobby that would compair to starbucks. Fitness area does the job with 5 cardio machines and hand weights. The front desk staff is real nice. Over all this hotel gets a "B-". Mostly due to lack of room mantainace and cleaniless. This review is based on 4 separate visits for a week at a time.

Room Tip: even side (rooms above *20-*30 away from the street) rooms have a better view and higher up would b...

“Nice stay, great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 7, 2012

Great location in downtown Buffalo, close to restaurants and near the Kleinhans Music Hall. On site parking was very convenient and we felt safe coming and going after dark. Our room even had a view of Lake Erie! Only negative was that the bathroom was very small but that was just a minor inconvenience. Would stay here again in the future.

“Complementary shuttle service well worth it”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 30, 2012

Stayed here for while interviewing at the University of Buffalo. The complementary shuttle service to and from the airport was very fast and convenient. They picked me up right as I called and dropped me off at the airport without delays. That saved me a lot of time and money and made it well worth the stay here. The staff was very courteous and friendly. Hotel was clean and located right next to a Walgreen. Would definitely recommend staying here when visiting Buffalo. The famous Anchor Inn is also 3 blocks away. The buffalo wings were pretty good.
