“would recommend”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 28, 2012

We were in town for a military reunion and chose this hotel based on its location, quality of the restaurant food and room cost. Food in the restaurant was excellent and the prices were more than reasonable. I recommend the prime rib to anybody that appreciates a good piece of beef.

I was very impressed by the staff as they all greeted us with a smile where ever we met them. The front desk personnel were also very helpful and their friendly smiles seemed contagious.

Of the complaints I received from our members, the largest number was the breakfast buffet. Each item on the buffet was in such large quanity that the hot food items were cold before the item needed replenishing. They should consider puting out smaller quanities of each item and then replenishing them more often. Food was tasty and hot for the early arrivals, but cold for everyone after.

The other complaint that I heard most often was the cleanliness of our hospitality room. The only time the room was vacuumed and table linen changed was on our last day. The reason they gave me for this was that the room is usually cleaned in the evening, but that is when we used it the most . We toured the area during the day and after dinner we wanted to relax in the hospitality room and tell our war stories and catch up on every one's lives.

In spite of those two problems I would definitly recommend this property to any group planning an event. Unlike the previous review on this page by jezebel777, I did not encounter any staff with any thing but a pleasant demeanor. Even when I brought our concerns to management, they were very professional and courteous to me.

Overall the members were pleased with the property and by the way every Tuesday they have a managers reception with complimentary drinks and appetizers.

It is a very average hotel... the restaurant is worth the stay. The front desk staff were extremely helpful!

FYI: If you are a Priority Club member you get $6 off your meal & a free appetizer in the restaurant!

*We stayed at the Buffalo Holiday Inn for the recent Buffalo Irish Festival because it was the Headquarter hotel where the bands were also staying. When we arrived at the Hotel the gentleman at the front desk, who checked us in, wasn't even aware that they were the Headquarter Hotel, Really.
**On Friday evening when the festival had ended for that day(11:00 p.m.) we headed back to the Hotel for a few drinks only to be told by the bartender that the lounge was closing and that closing time was at the discresion of the bartender, the manager was called over because people couldn't understand why the lounge was closing before midnight and she was extremely rude to the patrons. We were told by her that it would stay open later on the Saturday night but on Saturday night, as well, even though the bar was almost full of people from the festival looking for a end to the evening, and perhaps a little sing song with the bands. Unbelieveable. We;re sure the hotel lost a huge amount of revenue due to the poor management skills of their staff.
***Good customer service is not apologizing for poor service and unskilled staff, it is providing excellent customer service upfront therefore not needing a reason to apologize.
****We will never stay there again for any reason. The management should be ashamed of themselves for the appalling customer service.

Dear Jezebel777:

Thank you for giving us the opportunity to apologize for this situation. A miscommunication caused some confusion as to the hours of operation and closing times for our lounge. I know this does not make up for the poor service or experience you had but we are working on making necessary changes to make sure situations like this do not occur in the future. We have spoken with the Sales manager for our hotel and he has reached out to the organizer.

Once again, thank you for your feedback and please accept our apologies.

This is a nice hotel in a really nice location. It is close to many restaurants just around the corner. My friend and I walked to the water front, it was about 20 minutes away. The hotel is clean and quiet. The rooms are comfortable with free wi fi. I didn't have any complaints. I was there on business and I found it to be very easy to get to and from the airport.

Nice hotel, great rooms, hi def flat tvs, comfortable beds, bathroom ok - shower and tub looked older - there are closer hotels to downtown than this one. No free breakfast. Parking free though. No ability to just have fan running in room without either heat or cool selected. Fan in bathroom didn't work.

This hotel is a good option if you are planning to visit Niagara falls. Located in a nice part of Buffalo, it's only 25 minutes drive from Niagara.

The price you pay for this hotel is very low granted that it offers:
- very spacious rooms with floor to ceiling windows offering nice views of Buffalo
- an absolutely comfortable high bed (best that we've seen)
- clean rooms with good amenities like modern cable TV, WiFi, hair drier, toiletries etc
- reasonably good and plentiful a la carte breakfast
- free parking
- friendly staff

I have no negatives, apart from the fact that the hotel is starting to be a little dated (visible on the window frames or doors). Nothing really bad though.

I strongly recommend it.

Room Tip: High floor. Ask and you should receive :)

We stayed for one night at the Inn as we intended to visit Niagara Falls as part of out trip from England. We arrived in to Buffalo Airport and were able to call the hotel, who sent their own shuttle bus to collect us and transport us to the hotel free of charge. The hotel was close to the Anchor Inn, which served fantastic buffalo wings! The staff were really helpful and aided us in getting to Niagara Falls (we only had a day before catching an overnight train to Chicago). They drove us to the bus station, where we then caught the bus to the Falls, rang them on our return and collected us from the bus station, and then drove us to the train station to catch our train to Chicago. All free of charge! We were initially worried about getting around while we were there but the shuttle bus service was an excellent aspect of our stay. The rooms were clean and contained everything we needed. Overall, we were really pleased with the service we received from all the staff, including the shuttle bus drivers, and would definitely recommend the hotel if you're visiting the Falls and haven't got a car to get around. Thank you!
