“Would not recommend for a conference or business travel”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed October 6, 2006

I attended the hotel for a business conference. I had the following complaints that I submitted to a manager.

1) The fire alarm went off twice the second night of the conference and all guests needed to go outside. Guests were extremely tired the next day since this was very early in the morning (around 3 or 4 AM) and many could not go back to sleep. Also, it went off a second time. Staff did not offer an explanation or offer any friendly gestures to compensate, i.e., coffee/breakfast, formal apology.

2) Restaurant service was abysmal. We only went to the lunch room once, but never saw our waitress. When it came to paying for the bill, there was a long wait, it took 15 minutes for two of us to leave our table and the cashier couldn’t tally the bill correctly.

3) Internet in the guest rooms did not work. I called the hotel before flying to Buffalo to find out about online availability in the rooms – I was told there was a keyboard and internet access in each guestroom. Even after changing rooms, there was no internet. As a business traveler this was very frustrating. I was told that there was internet access in the business office, but because of the internet problems, there was always someone waiting. There is only ONE computer for the entire hotel in the business office.

4) I called the front desk to ask them to address these issues or if they could offer compensation for guests, but I was told they would not do anything about any of these issues. I also let them know that I plan to file a formal complaint.

The hotel is conviently located and is one of the better ones in downtown Buffalo. The ammenties make for a pleasant stay. Above expectations meals. The service staff is pleasant and helpful. Decent bathroom products (soap, lotion, shampoo) and linens. I had a room with problems on all of of my three stays at the hotel. Bed bugs were the worst, but they changed the room to a bug-free one immediately. Having to have my room key reprogrammed three times before it would work was annoying. A leaky toilet was fixed quickly but a nuisance. A clogged bathtub was disgusting, but they fixed it the same day. There are not many options in Buffalo so overall I recommend it.

Our group (40) stayed at this hotel for 1 night on September 23/06. Great location. Only a 5 minutes walk to all the bars and nightclubs. Rooms were nice and clean. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Everyone enjoyed the pool. Would stay there again.

Staff at the front desk was very nice and helpful. When I checked in, was put in a room that smelled very musty and dusty. Started weezing almost immediately. Went down and asked for another room, and explained the problem. Got a new room no questions asked.

New room (as well as old one) was tired, and furniture could use updating. In-room Internet (free) was nice touch. Carpet was a bit stained, but clean., A/C worked great, and window opened. Room service was nothing to write home about. Hamburger was overdone, and fries were cold.

If I wasn't staying here on business, I would not recommend this hotel for the money.

I stayed at the Adams Mark on business March 2006. What a mistake. Rooms were outdated and smelled musty. What was more unbelievable to me...the Boston Bruins were in town and that's where they stayed, as I saw them in and out of the lobby. I know the NHL is hurting financially, but c'mon.

The room was from the 1950's. The furniture was older than my parents. The rooms were not clean and the carpet was as old as my grandmother. The room had a smell to it that I can't even explain. I thought there may have been a corpse under my bed.

The room was not clean, air conditionor was bad. most importantly, the attitude of front office staff ruined our precious holiday mood. Will never recommend to anybody at all.
