My friend and I had lunch on Thursday, August 9th at this restaurant. We just loved the gift shop, which had all kinds of old fashioned candy and various souvenirs, like plates, shirts, aprons, jars of jam, etc. It was like an old style general store.
We decided to eat lunch and we were seated promptly. Our server was very patient and attentive. We were first-time diners, and somewhat overwhelmed with the extensive menu, but she patiently answered all our questions and she gave us ample time to decide. I had the roast turkey dinner with two vegetables. The turkey was real turkey breast. It had a nice light gravy on top. I had cornbread stuffing, sweet potato casserole and glazed baby carrots. The meal came with a cornmeal muffin and a buttermilk biscuit. The portion was generous and filling. I enjoyed all of it.
My friend had a BLT sandwich, which was also very generous. She had country style chunky fries and coleslaw. It was too much for her to finish. I couldn't help her out, as I also was full. There was no room for dessert....that was for sure!
The atmosphere was busy, yet comfortable. The tables were not too crammed together, which was good. It was kind of like eating at grandma's house. We both enjoyed it. We would certainly return, as it was excellent value for the money. My dinner was approximately 8.75 USD....very reasonable for the quantity and quality of the food.
My advice is come hungry, as you're going to want to eat every bite!!!
