Adam's Rib is one of thse places that's been around forever, but despite being only a few blocks away from my family home, I had never visited.
I wish I hadn't waited so long, because it is now in my favorites list!
I went with my family on a Tuesday night. The dining room is very cosy, and decorated with old hunting scene prints, red leather chairs and candles on the tables. It has a real 1960s feel: you could picture Don Draper at one of the tables with a date. There's also a small bar, where locals gathered, probably the original bar patrons from the 60s. The bartender wore a shirt and tie.
The food was in a word - GREAT. I had the Chicken Pot Pie, it was wonderful. My sister had the Turkey Dinner, and said it was the best she's had. My mother had the Chopped Steak and rated it a ten. Good old fashioned food, beautifully done.
The setvice was also great, a friendly and efficient waitress who seemed a real Buffalo local.
Adam's Rib has made a big impression on me, for both the decor and the fabulous food.
