For my wife and me, Amy's Place is one of our favorite places to eat in town. When we go out, we typically like to try new places, so we don't often return to the same place more than a few times. However, we have returned to Amy's Place often over the years we have been living near Buffalo. This restaurant is as far removed from a corporate chain as you can get. It seems that all of the employees have an equal stake in running the business.
Their menu consists of options to please everyone. Typically, I order the two-egg breakfast with homefries and rye toast. I like the eggs scrambled with some feta cheese on top. Sometimes I will add on their signature "sizzle strips," which are basically two pieces of grilled seasoned tofu. For today's lunch, I ate my typical plate and my wife ordered a chicken kabob dish. Her chicken was a little tough and dry, but the overall order was tasty.
As you can read from the other reviews, the employees should spend a little more time and energy in maintaining the cleanliness of their establishment. Actually, they could use a full time person to spend their entire shift cleaning. Maybe Amy's Place could be a candidate for one of those restaurant make-over reality shows.
