“Great Location, Great Breakfast - Great Value! (Gluten-Free Breakfast Options)”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 1, 2013

I've seen others accurately describe this B&B as a "hidden gem." Richmond Place Inn is run by the kindest, most customer-oriented person we know! Glen goes out of his way to make sure you are comfortable.

Location is ideal if you want to walk around the Allen Town area or to the Kleinhans Hall (we saw Bill Maher perform there--a 3 minute walk to the Hall!). It's a great part of town because you're near everything, but it's relatively quiet and the traffic is minimal. Parking is easy if you have a car.

But the best part of all is the breakfast! We eat a gluten-free diet and Glen hooked us up with a special dish every day in addition to the regular breakfast for everyone else! Wow! Plenty of choices, healthily prepared--breakfast was a highlight of each day.

Note: It looks like the furnishings and decor were not top-of-the-line in the past, but Glen is working on upgrading each room - and the transformation looks very far along now.

Comfortable, safe, and attentive service--a tremendous value in the heart of Buffalo. We will stay there the next time we visit this fun city!

Room Tip: Got adjoining rooms for family of four (shared bathroom)

With 20 rooms it's actually more of a small hotel than your typical b&b. The house is from the late 19th century, located in one of the nice historic neighborhoods of the city, just a short walk to Allen Street's restaurats and shops.
The breakfast was great, and our host Glen was super accomodating, made us feel very welcome.
The room was well equipped and quiet, but don't expect your typical cookie cutter plastic hotel room. This is an old house, but that's part of the charm. Everything was clean and well maintained.
We will definitely be back!

The owner as well as the rest of the staff were very personable and friendly. Its located in a nice part of town, with quick easy access to food, banks, stores, and buses if needed. Rooms came with A/C, flat screen TV, a microwave, and a fridge. And a great breakfast in the morning to start your day ! Would recommend to anyone, especially for the rates offered.

The Richmond Place Inn offers a fabulous B&B experience. The staff could not be friendlier and are always available to accommodate any request. The rooms and adjoining baths are exquisitely clean and contain roomy refrigerators, microwaves, and flat screen televisions. Everyone raved about the hearty breakfasts (eggs, pancakes, fruit, toast, ham, and beverages) and the staff was more than happy to have vegan cuisine available for me. The Inn is literally just steps away from beautiful Symphony Circle and Kleinhans Music Hall. Overall, Richmond Place Inn is an incredible bargain!

I found this B/B to be a great spot for a weekend getaway. Centrally situated in a great area of town, within an easy walking distance to shops and restaurants and literally across the street from a show we saw at Kleinhan's Music Hall. Our room was spotless and comfortable. The owner was very warm and personable and went out of his way to offer us advice about the locality. Breakfast was outstanding, with a wide variety of food offered and our dietary preferences (prompted by the owner in advance) were completely accommodated. Overall, I found the value offered for this B&B was outstanding. I look forward to my next stay at the Richmond Place Inn and highly recommend it to others.

I just came back from a long weekend stay in Buffalo at the Richmond Place Inn. I enjoyed a better experience than the previous trip advisor. Having driven through Buffalo many times before, this was the first time I have spent any time in this city. We used the Inn as our "base camp" for three nights while exploring Buffalo, shopping in the Niagara Falls area and taking a day trip into Lily Dale, NY.

Although the home does need work, the owner is in the process of renovating the Inn. Glen was very helpful and hospitable to us. He made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. The breakfasts were tasty and more food than we could eat.

The home is located in Buffalo's historical Lower West Side. We were pleasantly surprised to find many older victorian homes and preserved older buildings. It made for an interesting walk in the neighbourhood. I would be tempted to go on a historical tour of this area to learn more about the history of this community. The Inn is located close to Allentown - within walking distance - it's a hip, lively strip of eateries, bars and art shops.

If you're looking for an economical, conveniently located place to stay in an interesting neighbourhood, I recommend this Inn.

This B&B was run by a very nice man. However, upon arrival, we left. After walking in the rooms smelled damp. Once we checked the beds and found old blood stains on the mattresses and clear milky stains on the bed spread, we considered asking for another room. After we found the cracked mirrors and trash (pizza boxes, soda cans, old straws) in the closet, we left. Also, we had the room booked for only a month prior to staying, however, upon our arrival he informed us he had some sudden renovations and we would have to stay in other rooms, not a suite and not connected to each other. This was such a shame since the neighborhood was gorgeous and I would have loved to take a walk or run around after dinner. I wouldn't even consider this place, should I ever go back to Buffalo.
