“Beautiful Setting”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 24, 2013

Stayed with our 2 girls aged 8 and 11 to visit Flagstaff, Grand Canyon and train from Williams. We all loved it, the grand entrance hall, large rooms and great pool. We felt really safe within the hotel and the grounds are lovely. The restaurant was great and not overpriced, breakfast was tasty. Our room (183) was massive, very clean and quiet both day and night. Free Wi-Fi worked inside and round the pool. Girls had great fun in pool and hot tub.Laundry room very handy, staff friendly and helpful. Could not fault this hotel.

Room Tip: We had a ground floor room at the back of the hotel very quiet

We stayed here as part of our Route 66 tour and this hotel we found to be an ok stay. It has a quirky feel to it and it's set in some beautiful scenery but overall the hotel rooms feel dated and in need of an update.

The main entrance feels warm and welcoming and the girl on reception was very nice and helpful. We had read Trip Advisor reviews that said we needed to stay in the back Lodge number 4 to get away from the road traffic noise and that certainly seemed to work. We ate at the restaurant on the first night but sadly it was very expensive (worked out about $40 per person with 2 drinks and a dessert each) which was the most we paid in 2 weeks of touring. The main was acceptable but incredibly bland and the dessert very nice. The head waiter, a retired fireman, was nice to talk to and polite. The breakfast next morning was very average and, again, very overpriced. We made a call to Nevada and left a voicemail. The hotel charged us $4 for that which we felt was totally unacceptable for a 20 second message.

The room itself was quirky and fun. The decor and furniture have a warm feel to them like they have been loved and we really appreciated that. If you don't appreciate it, you'll think it urgently needs a refurb though as a lot of the decor is peeling and ageing. The room was nice and large though and we thought it funny that we had 5 chairs for 3 people :) :)

The pool, just out the back of our room, was lovely and set in amongst the mountain trees - beautiful. Sadly though, the walk to Lodge 4 is VERY LONG (10 mins at least with luggage) with no escalator or lift for upstairs. The walls are paper thin in the corridors though and a group of screaming women ruined out nights sleep about 3:30am. When they eventually left the corridor and closed their door, we still couldn't sleep though as the walls are so think that we could hear their antics. Not nice.

Sadly, the weather was awful when we were there so we couldn't use the pool - maybe it would have improved our image of the place.

All in all, a good hotel in need of a lick of paint and an update.

My family and I stayed at the Little America Hotel from August 2-5, 2013 and we all loved it. The room was extremely spacious and clean with two queen size beds and plenty of room to set up the blow up mattress. The staff was extremely nice during our stay. The wi-fi was free and fantastic anywhere on the hotel grounds. The pool was very clean with plenty of towels. The hotel appeared to be completely booked but we did not get the feeling that it was crowded. I was able to easily find parking close to our room each night. We used Flagstaff as a base to explore northeast Arizona and it worked out very well. I highly recommend the Little America Hotel and would certainly stay there again if I return to Flagstaff!

Room Tip: We were in a room facing the highway and we could not hear any traffic at all. Other reviewers comp...

This is a nice place and secluded from interstate and local car traffic. The staff was polite and the rooms were big and spacious. Nice views of well manicured landscape, also they have a gift shop and classy Restaurant which I would recommend dinning at. The food was good and not to over priced for the atmosphere.

The hotel was lovely, the room was very big and clean as was the bathroom. The breakfast was great and the service impeccable. The grounds were lovely and the pool looked good although we didn't get to use it. We really enjoyed our stay here and would stay here again. Although there were lots of people staying at the hotel it didn't feel crowded at all.

Excellent hotel. Great place to stay while exploring the area. Trails, pool, restaurant, gift shop, laundry, big rooms, travel shop. Right off I-40. Near Lowell observatory where Pluto was discovered.

We have been staying at Little America, off and on, for about 11 years. We have stayed in the summer and during the snows right after Christmas. I really don't understand any of the complaints. Each room has a thermostat, so temperature is completely adjustable up or down. The rooms are very large, including a sofa and two comfortable chairs. I have never experienced a problem with food odors in the lobby. The staff is fabulous!!! We had a problem with our door. A repair man was there in under five minutes and the problem was fixed immediately. The hotel grounds include 500 acres of Ponderosa pine trees and meadows full of wild flowers this summer. A lovely 2 /12 mile walking trail is well laid out. If you walk mindfully, you will see an abundance of wild life including birds, squirrels, chipmunks, and a prairie dog town (those are not gophers!). All in all, a wonderful, comfortable and welcoming place to stay.
