“Paused in another era”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 7, 2013

This hotel is just so nice, it feels like you stepped back to the 70's. This is the second time we have stayed here - I love this place. The rooms are huge, clean and although the furniture is older, it feels brand new. This is a very quiet hotel, at least when we've been there. The back of the property has a beautiful view of redwood trees, pool and small walking trail. The front of the hotel does face the highway, but it is not loud at all. The restaurant is fantastic (they make wonderful eggs benedict) and they also have a full bar. There is a very nice gift shop just off the front desk. Perfectly located if you are on your way to the Grand Canyon, or just visiting Flaggstaff. Will definitely stay here again and again.

Friendly front desk staff, the room was big, the decor had 19th century style but all items were new, undamaged and clean. It was a nice change from modern, contemporary accommodation in hotels these days.
the hotel grounds are huge, nicely landscaped, have lovely walk paths. The outdoor pool is not big ( perhaps too small for overall amount of rooms) but maintained well.
Didn't have food in hotel ( ordered Chinese takeaway) so can't comment on this.
I highly recommend the place, I would definitely stay again.

This is quite an older hotel and that's what makes it great. It's nestled in the pine trees and quiet. (Still close to everything though). Rooms are large and very clean. There is a 2 mile walking trail and a very large pool/hottub behind the hotel. Food was top notch and the service was second to none.

There's really not one bad thing to say about Little America. Friendly, comfortable, quiet. Yes, the rooms are a bit formal compared to some of the big chains, but clean and well maintained. No elevator to second floor.

The hotel was clean and well kept (and a wonderful and convenient location!), but I felt like we were staying in a room from the 1970's. The important thing was it was clean. We had breakfast in the dining room the next morning and it was average at best. I guess for the price, it was good. The hotel is surrounded by woods and very scenic.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the woods as opposed to the parking lot.

We were pleasantly surprised with this hotel. This has to be one of the nicest hotels in Flagstaff, certainly in the Lucky Lane area. Looking at the hotel offerings in the area we were not expecting much. It was snowing when we arrived and the lobby was warm and the staff very welcoming and they checked us in right away. Many of the hotels in Flagstaff have outdoor entrances to your room but this is inside and feels very safe (and warm). The room was very large as was the bathroom. The beds were comfortable and they have down pillows and very nice bedding. There were plenty of towels and they seemed new and thick and fluffy. The rooms have a sliding glass door that looks out into a wooded area which is very pretty. Yes, it is an older place and the furnishings may look like grandma's but it is amazingly clean and very nice. They also had a small frig in the room. They have a great gym with treadmills, a bike, stair climber, elliptical, weights, etc. They have a lounge and restaurant but we didn't have a chance to go. There is a Cracker Barrel on the other side of the highway, probably a 2 minute drive. We went there for breakfast as did some of the other hotel guests. They did a great job trying to keep the sidewalks and parking lot safe for driving and walking in the snow. Overall we were very impressed with this hotel and when we are in Flagstaff we will definitely stay here.

The rooms are large, bath towels were nice, and the place was clean with plenty of parking. Pretty much can't really ask for anything more. Location is right off of the freeway, close to gas, and not far from downtown. Decor is kind of odd, style is dated, but doesn't feel run down at all.

I'd probably stay somewhere else if we were in Flagstaff again, but really only to try something else, not because there was anything wrong with little america.
