“Stayed here twice this month”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 24, 2012 via mobile

We strayed here on our way to New Mexico and again on our way back. Our room both times was huge with a full sitting room. Yes, it is an older place and could use a few updates. We are picky about where we stay and usually stay in high end hotels. However, we really enjoyed our stay and will definitely stay here again. It was very clean and pleasant. We thought the grounds were beautiful and we had excellent views for both rooms we stayed in. We ate four meals in the restaurant and all our food was excellent. The service could have been better during one of our meals, but that waiter was new and was really trying to get it right. The others were excellent and very attentive.

The customer service makes this hotel worth it. Nessled off I-40 in Flagstaff AZ you will find the Little America Hotel. It was built in the 70's and still looks like it. The rooms are clean, the service was great. The beds are really hard so if you like that this is your place. They have a really nice playground if you are travelling with children. They also have a lot of large rocks that the kids like climbing on. The hotel lobby is beaultiful and I was surprised how good the food was in the grill and our waiter Joe did a great job. The only downside is the dated decore.

I found the Hotel to be somewhat outdated... Room was spacious but decorating and furniture was dated...

Definitely should not be rated number one on your list?

The grounds and landscape beds, etc. were not very well maintained.

The food in the dinning room was probably good if it had been hot... both supper and breakfast meals were cold and the service was spotty...

My wife and I have been staying at Little America for 30 years. We love that is always retains its unique character. The rooms are large, comfortable and ornate in a very kitchsy way. The staff is friendly. The lobby and fireplace are welcoming. The gift shop always has interesting goods. The diner is a little bit of Americana all by itself. But we really like are the grounds, the pool, the pine trees and mostly the walking trail. Christmas time is the best with millions of lights in the large pine trees around the hotel.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the rear are best, having views of pine trees and the pool area.

If you want comfortable and spacious rooms Little America is the place for you. It is a little on the expensive side considering you do not get breakfast but with the choices available to you in Flagstaff it should not put you off. The rooms are clean and so much space. If you have the time you need to go for Happy Hour in the Tiffany Tree bar, half price drinks and appitisers. Also, very friendly staff. It is a bit of a trek into downtown Flag but the hotel offers a bus to pick up and drop off and they are also happy to order you a taxi.

Hotel Little America is outdated, cold and nothing special. I don't know why this hotel was number one. IT was more expensive than all the other hotels we researched, but we decided to stay here because of the reviews we read on tripadvisor. The furniture is really old and the designs are all from the early 80s. The rooms were large and clean, but there was no free breakfast and nothing extra to make you really want to stay here. The cleaner also showed up at 8am. We should have saved some money and just stayed at a motel.

Dear Jessica-

Thank you for taking the time to share the details of your recent visit. It was disappointing to learn you did not find value in choosing to stay at the Little America.

Most guests find our property reasonably priced among our competitors and appreciate the gracious accommodations we offer. I am sorry we fell short of your expectations and I have communicated your comments regarding housekeeping services to the appropriate personnel. Unfortunately, not all guests find our furnishings and décor to their liking, this is a matter of personal preference. Again, thank you for your feedback Jessica.

Warm Regards –

Great find...huge rooms, beautifully appointed, lovely grounds with a walking trail thru the ponderosa pines, playground for kids, big gift store, fireplace in lobby, super nice staff, and wellllll priced. Don't think twice. Book it!
Our only complaint was that housekeeping knocked on our door at 8am. Ridiculous.
Warning: Put your do not disturb sign on your door.

Room Tip: We had a king and the room was big like a suite. Just be sure to put your privacy sign on your door...
