“Solid Flagstaff Choice”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 29, 2012 via mobile

Good location with Walgreen's , Starbucks, breakfast places etc all within a few blocks. Brian at the front desk doubled as a conciere type that you would find at an expensive hotel with over the top helpful suggestions for travelers. Hot tub and warm pool inside. Room was solid for the price and quiet. Comfortable lobby and attached to a CoCo's restaurant. I would highly recommend if in your price range.

3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 27, 2012

Stayed here for 2 nights during a one month tour of various states (so we have lots of hotels to compare this with). This is an older property and it's beginning to show its age.

This is not up to other HGIs we've stayed at and not sure what makes it a HGI. This one is more like a Hampton Inn.

There were a number of problems with our room: The ones we reported were fixed the next day (very noisy aircon, bathroom door that could not be opened, desk drawer that kept flying out).

Two other problems remained:- a toilet seat that crashed down every time you put it up and, most annoyingly, some bright spark decided to fit self closing hinges to the closet doors. Try hanging your pants on a hanger whilst the door keeps banging your elbow. And even worse, packing everything from the wardrobe. We had to prop the dang things open with a pair of boots.

There is only one elevator serving the whole property and this can lead to hold-ups at times and the breakfast room could not cope with all the guests during this busy weekend.

Though we were sited at the very end of a corridor on the top (3rd) floor we still suffered a lot of noise from adjoining rooms. Insulation between rooms seems poor.

On the up side, staff were helpful and friendly and went out of their way to welcome us. And it's a good location, not far from historic Downtown (don't miss it!) and the freeway. Lots of restaurants around too.

On balance, when we return to Flagstaff, we'll look elsewhere for our accommodation. Sorry!

We received a nice welcome when we arrived at this HGI location. The staff were friendly and helpful with dinner suggestions. We took their suggestion of eating at Greek Islands and were very happy with our meal.

We found the room to be clean, large and comfortable, like most HGI locations. The hotel is in a convenient location near gas stations, restaurants and shopping but it is still quiet and we slept like babies. We'd recommend it to friends and would definitely stay again.

After a long road trip we chose to stay in our trusty Hilton en route to Vegas. We received the best warm welcome we have ever had in any hotel by a young manager. Attentive, helpful and a ready smile alway greeted us heartfelt. If you are a member you will be offered a voucher for a drink of your choice, wine and beer included and a warm cookie, very comforting!!

Our room was standard, comfortable, something you expect from this group. Can't recommend this hotel enough, it's like bing welcomed to someone's home and well priced too.

This is an older Hilton Garden Inn but the service from the front dest to the breakfast staff was outstanding. They do not serve dinner but there is a restaurant right next door that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The rooms are spotlessly clean, although not as large as the newer Hilton Garden Inns. Convenient location just off I-40. Within a reasonable driving distance to the Grand Canyon.

Room Tip: This property is two blocks off the interstate, and insulated from street noise on all four sides...

My friend and I stayed here twice in the past month.. The night desk manager, Bryan, who has been there for a number of years, can't be beat in terms of hospitality and helpfulness. The lobby area of the hotel is beautiful and the rooms are quite attractive. I am told that this was the fourth Hilton Garden Inn built. It could use more than one elevator, which is really slow, not that I mind using stairs some of the time. The breakfast area is nice, too, but we did comment that some of the food items are less than piping hot, in spite of the steam tables

Room Tip: A first floor room avoids the pokey elevator.

We checked Trip Advisor for hotels in Flagstaff. My husband and I then decided on this hotel in order to go to the Lowell Observatory for National Astronomy Day in April. This place was welcoming as soon as we arrived. We both were given good directions, information on the area and where a good Indian restaurant for dinner was located. The breakfast the next morning was delicious and the serving staff was equally friendly and helpful. As we left the hotel, the groundskeeper even told us to have a good day! We would stay here the next time we are in the area.
