“Overall and good stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2014

We stayed here the night before and after or camping trip at Mather Campground in the Grand Canyon and it was a nice place to crash. The rooms were clean but the bathrooms were a little bit small. It was conveniently located to Tacos Los Altos and a laundromat so that made everything really convenient. We'd stay here again.

We appreciate your comments and are very happy you picked us! Tacos Los Altos is a great restaurant indeed! We offer laundry services to our customers because it is never fun to have dirty clothes!

Thank you again for taking the time to let others know about your stay.

My husband and I rented one of the 2 room suites for ourselves, our two kids and my mother. The main room had a typical pull out sofa and queen bed with cable tv, fridge, microwave and safe, and the second room had another queen bed with cable tv and coffee maker. Our stay was great! The room was super clean as were all the public areas of the hotel that we used. The toilet paper was a little thin, but the bath soaps and shampoos were pleasant. The kids really enjoyed the pool and the hotel even supplied towels for after your swim. The breakfast area was very nice and the food was some of the best that we've had for self serve. They offered cooked eggs with cheese and sausage in addition to make your own waffle bar, plain and raisin breads for toasting, cereals, doughnuts, yogurt, fresh fruit, milk, juices and various hot drinks. The hot drinks were also available throughout the day. There were a couple of very sweet women that kept the breakfast area well stocked and clean during the service time from 6-10. There was plenty of seating, even though it was a holiday weekend and the view of the mountain nearby was really enjoyable. We feel that we got great value with breakfast being included in the price of the room. We stayed three nights and all the desk staff, especially the manager, were very nice and helpful. We saw that there was a coin operated laundry near the ice and vending machines and a computer in the breakfast area/lobby, but didn't make use of them. We did enjoy the Wi-Fi as we all had some device with us, and the cable offered a great variety of channels. Even though this hotel is a little further from downtown and the University, we would definitely stay here again when visiting Flagstaff. It is convenient to several other businesses within walking distance, and we found a great park just up the road for our kids.

Room Tip: Rooms on north side away from train tracks.

Everything is old. Walls have been patched everywhere. Shower head falling off the wall. Wifi non existing. Walls paper thin. I know it was holiday weekend but 180 for this was rediculous. Never stay in this place. It was a step up from KOA.

We called in the evening to book a room. At that time we asked about the jacuzzi. When we arrived less than an hour later there were two bus loads of teen agers in the jacuzzi and pool. They had been there for hours. When we asked why the girl at the front desk didn't tell us, she very rudely told me oh sorry I will tell you next time. The next week we stayed at the Hampton Inn next door and it was newer, cleaner and had many more amenities. Aaron at the front desk at the Hampton was oozing service and friendly.

Room Tip: If you stay there ask for a room facing opposite route 66, it will be quiter.

Thank you for your review. We are sorry that you encountered us on a busy evening when we had a group of Rotary students from other countries traveling the US and picked us for an overnight stay. The group was out of the pool and spa area by 9pm, allowing the other hotel guests the area to themselves. These are great kids who have been staying at our location for 9+ years. We hope that you did not judge our hotel based upon this situation alone. I'm sure we made up for that in other areas.

Again, thank you for your comments.

We actually stayed at this hotel back in mid-December 2013, so this might be just a bit dated. But we found it to be one of the more enjoyable places we have stayed. Still, not flawless. In no particular order:
• The bathroom felt like it was not much bigger than a phone booth--and yes, I am old enough to know exactly how big a phone booth is--er, WAS. In other words, it was tiny and the toilet was situated in such a way as to make its use rather awkward.
• The sink area was also pretty small, and outside the room in which the toilet and bathtub are situated.
• We had a lot of problems with the TV audio. The sound levels fluctuated pretty wildly, for no apparent reason.
• The staff members were *extremely* helpful and friendly. They really went out of their way to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. They hooked us up with a GREAT tour guide for the Grand Canyon (albeit a wee bit on the expensive side; still, we thought it worth every penny). It snowed fairly heavily the last night we were there, and--since we were driving a rental car--we didn't have a snow scraper. The hotel had two or three that they were letting people use. Very thoughtful, and above-and-beyond...
• The room itself was very clean and well maintained.
• The beds were firm and comfortable.
• The shower was decent, good pressure.
• They had free--and decent--coffee in the lobby 24/7. Nice benefit.
• The breakfast was both hot and cold and somewhat better than the average hotel.
• There were plenty of electrical outlets available in the room. Nice for us techno junkies.
• The lighting options were plentiful and warm.
• There were only two chairs in the room, neither of them very comfortable.
• We also had some problems with noise from the room next door. In other words, fairly thin walls.
Like I said, there were a few problems, but overall, we had a very pleasant stay at this hotel.

We had a very Nice room, it was clean and bright.
One of the chairs was loose.
The toilet was also loose and the bathroom could use a update because there where cracks in the plaster.
Complementary breakfast was ok.
The bed was good and we had a fridge.

Thank you for your review.. Looks like we have a few things to check on in that room but I'm glad the good outweighed the toilet issue. Thank you for taking a moment to let us and others know about your stay. Look forward to seeing you again.

The first night we stayed here the room air conditioner was very noisy and loud. Also, along with the electronic train signal at the crossing nearby, and the roar of the diesel engines going by all night, we got very little sleep that night. NOT a very good way to start your week of vacation!!

Thank you for taking a moment to let us and others know about your stay.

We are sorry to hear that the trains kept you up on your overnight stay. Being Flagstaff is a town in which was built around the railroad, it is hard to tell when those pesky trains are going to beep or not.

We welcome you to come back to Flagstaff anytime and we can try to put you in a room on the opposite side of our building.

Have a great 4th of July.
