I found this motel to be well kept up and conveniently located. (previously mentioned remodeling is completed). It is possible to walk the 5-6 blocks to the historic downtown, and it is off the main thoroughfare, so that traffic noise is minimized. The train noise wasn't loud here either (it is hard to avoid, the train runs through the middle of town). Staff was friendly and the room includes a microwave, refrigerator and TV in good working order. A decent continental breakfast is provided, that now features make-your-own waffles which were delish. My upstairs neighbors were noisy and woke me up early, but that may not be everyone's experience. Only other complaint is that the shower was rather small. Overall, a good standard room for the price.

“Hair brush..used!”

While a decent place to stay for the price, I had one problem. After returning late in the evening I found long black hair in my hair brush. The problem was I have very short brown hair. When I went to the owner the next morning he doubted my findings. I left the brush with the hair in the room, obviously a bit disgusted, so the cleaning person could have it for further use. I did not hear from the hotel again concerning the matter, nor was anything done to correct the matter.

My wife and me did the Route 66 in Summer 07. This is a place we stayed for two nights. One of many Motels we've seen on the road.

The Travel Inn is a good value. It's not great, but it's good. Check-In was fast. The owner very helpful and gave us a lot of information. A big Plus! The rooms have an ok size, bathroom is a little small though. But that's alright, it was comfortable.

Room had aircon, TV, fride, microwave and some extra table w/ chairs. The Motel has some kind of a Spa also, but can't tell anything, i didn't go have a look.

The Travel Inn is at a good location, easy to find, at a street. But even it was at a street it wasn't loud.

You might wonder, why I give four stars! Two reasons: This place is a good place if you wanna go see the Grand Canyon. And secondly there is probably one of the best Restaurants ever very close to this Motel (It's called "Granny's Closet").

If you wanna know more about Route 66, have a look at my website:

We requested a room for disable because of my broken foot. They gave us a room that in the corner that was not too easy to access because one of the employees used the space in the front of the door as a motorbike parking! The window looked out a dumpster in the back. The room was very basic. There's free breakfast that included mini bagels with cream cheese, watery coffee, and baby size boxed juices. The hotel is just ok for our stop over to Grand Canyon. Nothing more, nothing less.

We had a travel book coupon for staying here, which brought down the price to $43+tax per night. For that price, the room was quite decent and included wireless Internet access, a plus.

The room itself was oversized -- almost too big, in fact. The minigolf-style green carpeting was kind of off-putting. Sadly, there wasn't a bathtub in the bathroom. But the noisy wall air-con/heating unit was excellent at blocking the considerable traffic noise.

The front desk staff were very helpful, pointing out local restaurants where guests could get discounts (like the '50s-style Galaxy Diner nearby). The continental breakfast included granola bars, fruit punch and some fatty muffins -- nothing to write home about.

On my next trip to Flagg, I'll stay somewhere else. The competition is intense among budget motels, and there must be a better bargain at one of the other properties along old Route 66.
