“Clean hotel, comfortable beds!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 16, 2011

The family and I took a trip to Flagstaff to ride the Polar Express train in Williams. Two years ago we stayed in Williams and were very unhappy with the accommodations. We opted to stay in Flagstaff (only about 20 minutes east of Williams). At first glance, I was a little worried because the hotel looked too nice for a family with three kids under the age of four, but we staff was incredibly friendly and got our kids excited to see Santa on the Polar Express (Santa can sometime be scary to a two year old).
The entire experience was perfect, and it was also my first time ever sleeping on a sleep number bed. Great night's sleep, even for the kids! We will definitely use the Radisson as our Flagstaff hotel for future Polar Express and skiing trips.

The Polar Express is definitely a must-do for families visiting Northern Arizona and Flagstaff is a short drive from Williams where the train departs. We are so pleased that you 'found us' this past year and enjoyed your entire experience ( including the Sleep Number Beds!) We'll look forward to seeing you this next year on your visits to the Polar Express and ski adventures to Arizaona Snowbowl.

I travel the state of Arizona and have for the past 10 years. The Flag Radisson is my home away from home. It's quiet, comfortable, and clean. The people are nice, there's 2 restaurants on site, one of which is Sakura. They have done a ton of remodeling the last couple of years, they even have those adjustable sleep number beds (I think they are called). No freeway noise either. You can find cheaper but you get what you pay for, their rates for what you get are very reasonable..

Thank you so much for your very kind review... we truly appreciate (and never take for granted) being your 'home away from home' in Flagstaff. That is truly the best compliment we could receive from a guest. It will remain to be our ultimate goal - and I'll pass along your comments to our team at the Radisson Woodlands Hotel Flagstaff.

The good: The best part about our stay was the staff; all amazing! From the young man (can't remember his name, but he had red hair and glasses) that checked my wife and I in that was very accommodating and polite even though we called him at least 100 times during our stay for help and recommendations; to Rochelle in the bar making my night absolutely fantastic with great conversation about Flagstaff, I cannot believe how much I learned about the area from her! The staff was the highlight of my stay!

The bad and ugly: The room!!! It was like a blast from the past, the second you open the door you're greeted by an interior that looks as if it has not seen an update since 1985. The big give away: Tube TV's! I didn't even realise companies were still making these, I haven't been in a hotel with a glass tube, no definition, TV since 1999! For the price of the room, you'd think the management would spring for some decent TVs, especially with outrageous 20 dollar charge that came with an in-room film I ordered.

Overall, I'd come back to the hotel (but with my age, my eyes are going bad; they need to update those TVs or I won't be returning to the hotel on my next trip to Flagstaff), but if anything, I would recommend you bring your own laptop to watch TV and NEVER order a movie from the hotel until they update those televisions; I cannot emphasise enough what a joke it is that the hotel still has those in there!

We are so pleased that our staff and their focus on customer service impressed you... was the highlight of your stay. What an awesome compliment. In regards to the guestrooms - we hear you loud and clear about the TV's... and yes, we will be replacing them with brand new flatscreens... they are on order and we are just waiting for delivery and installation. Trust us... we are just as excited as you are for the new TV's and we'll be sure to post here on Trip Advisor when the TV's have been installed -- and we will welcome you back with open arms (and new TV's) on your next visit to Flagstaff!

Got a decent deal through a competitor's website. Arrived to a shoveled sidewalk and an ice & snow-covered driveway, the most at the front entrance. No ice-melt down so it made for a fun walk to the door. Nice and courteous young front desk staff that checked us in quickly. 2 bellhop carts right at the entrance thank goodness since we had suitcases and coolers. No fridge or microwave though which was disappointing for the star rating. Only 2 entrances into the main hotel. The night I arrived, the front was packed with cars. Luckily the rear was fairly empty. Quick elevators. Alcove with 2 computers for guest use. Excited to finally stay in a hotel with the same bed I own at home, a Sleep Number bed. When adjusting the bed, the compressor sounded like a jet engine and in a few seconds our side of the room smelled terribly of dust. Spent the next half hour sneezing. In the morning the kids got a kick out of our view - snow-topped roof with employees working :). They were entertained. Requested directions to the closest grocery store - supposedly a Safeway right down the street. Wound up getting lost and found a Bashas and a Walmart. Never did find the Safeway. Late afternoon attempted to bathe the kids. First found hair in the tub and then discovered there was no hot water. Front desk completely unaware the hot water had been a problem ongoing all day due the ice and snow. Maintenance stopped by to let me know what was going on & when they anticipated it fixed - nice to have the face to face reassurance. Two times during our stay I had called the front desk and there was no answer. Restaurant, cafe and whirlpool spa in the hotel but never used them. Left a list of a few things for improvement when I checked out. The girl at the front desk was receptive and thanked me for letting her know about the problems. Hotel was clean and had pretty decor but the customer service could use a little improvement. Maybe they were having a rough time due to the weather though. I would still probably stay there again.

My husband, stepson and I stayed at the recently built annex portion of the Radisson for a long weekend of skiing at the Snow Bowl. We were pleasantly surprised by the size, decor and comfort of the rooms for the low price we paid. We also had a nice backyard view of the recent snowfall.

The only real complaint is that we could hear every step taken by our upstairs neighbors, including the closing of bathroom doors, shower, etc. The helpful staff tried to source another room for us but the one they found had an extremely loud heater so we opted to remain in our original room and hoped our neighbors slept in. Overall, we recommend staying here but you should request to stay on a top floor if possible.

First, Thank You for choosing the Radisson Woodlands during your recent Arizona Snowbowl Ski weekend. We hope you were able to take advantage of one of our Arizona Skier Specials!
We are pleased that you enjoyed your stay, even through some 'noisy neighbors'. We do our best to request that all guests respect each other during their stay in regards to noise level, and we certainly try to accomodate room moves if they become necessary. Safe Travels until we see you again in Flagstaff.

We stayed in a suite w/front room area and seperate bedroom. Very clean, liked the layout- it felt more spacious than an average room. Bathroom was also very clean- including the shower curtains which appeared to be freshly washed or brand new. Dining was pleasant, food was well prepared and service was timely and friendly.

Arrived at hotel Xmas night and stayed for two nights. Unfortunately, Xmas night they had run out of food, but they were most apologetic and recommended a local restaurant which turned out fab....so quite pleased we ended up there - (Granny's Closet...about 4 min drive away). Had a adjoining room, so couple of kids in there with the little one with me and hubby. The bed had air pumped adjustable matresses. Free WiFi. There was a games console but that has to be paid for. Gorgeous hotel. Wasn't overjoyed with the restaurant and one waitress was a right mizog, but all the other staff were very pleasant. I do recommend this hotel. Convenient to Canyons too!

We are so pleased that you spent Christmas with us -- and hopefully enjoyed all of the snow that came and made it a white winter wonderland in Flagstaff. The snow is beautiful... but when it comes so much so fast, sometimes makes for operational difficulties (as you experienced in our restaurant). We do apologize that the experience in our restaurant wasn't up to our standards during your visit, but are pleased that you enjoyed the hotel, the location and your visit at the Radisson Woodlands Hotel Flagstaff.
