While the hotel staff were very accomodating, and gave us one of our two nights free, there was nothing they could do to make up for the very shabby state of this hotel. It seems to me the hotel needs a complete renovation, or perhaps tear it down and start over. It was the one place we stayed on our vacation that actually felt dirty. The carpet is filthy with stains and coming up in places, the furniture is badly stained, the window treatments are falling apart or broken, the window frames are rotting, the windows were dirty, the sink in our room was coming off the wall, a towel rack was coming off the wall, a faucet in the bathtub fell off because it wasn't screwed on properly, the walls in the bathroom near the floor are crumbling, the roof, visibile from the family suite is an eye sore, the swimming pool area is not ventilated, and a London Fog prevailed there.
Those are just the things that come immediately to mind. To top it off, there is no elevator to the second floor family suite (and no mention of this was made while booking online), and we had a person in our party who had great difficulty on stairs, and there was someone smoking in the room next door to us, when this was supposed to be a non-smoking hotel. We were very disappointed in this hotel, and nearly cancelled our reservation with another Best Western, in St. George, UT, until the hotel staff assured us that it was a much different hotel. It turned out to be true and we were very happy with the hotel accomodations at the Best Western Coral Hills in St. George.

Thank you for your review. You stayed in our Family Suite, which is on the second floor at the front of the hotel facing Route 66 and the BNSF Railway. This room was used as the owners/mangers apartment years ago. It is the only Family Suite that we have with 3 separate beds, 2 separate rooms. The room type description on our BEST WESTERN website states that it is on the second floor. It is a value room for larger families that can rent this room rather than renting two rooms. If hotels have an elevator, they will list it online as an amenity; hotels that do not have an elevator will not list that they “do not have” an elevator.

I apologize for the condition of the room, and we have repaired, and are replacing the items you brought to our attention.
The family suite is very popular with many of repeat guests and 1st timers. We actually receive many requests from train enthusiasts that prefer this room.
We pride ourselves in our service to guests, and I am happy to hear that the staff was very accommodating. The staff is empowered to do whatever it takes to satisfy the guest within reason, and in this case we Comped one of the nights during your stay.
