This hotel is better than a lot of the two star hotels I've stayed at. It's at the top of the two star range, as opposed to the kind you sometimes encounter that are an AAA visit away from the one star category. Our upstairs suite had new tile and carpet, remodeled bathroom and shower areas, and fresh paint. There are two full baths in the suite, king size bed, and a sleeper sofa in the second room which is separated from the first by a wall with an open area through the entryway / bathroom area. The furniture is nice, but beginning to show its age. The bed itself was very comfortable. Between the sofa bed and three chaired there plenty of seating room for a family. Yes, you'll hear the trains, but its not loud or window rattling. It sounds more like a large truck that goes on for a while. And they don't blow their horns. Considering that Route 66 and business loop 40 parallel the train tracks, it's hard to find a place in Flagstaff where you won't hear trains. The breakfast area is next door, quite large, with hot items (omelettes, potatoes, biscuits and gravy) along with all the normal items you'd expect to find. The staff was very nice and helpful. I would certainly stay here again.
