“a little unfinished”

Drury Inn & Suites Flagstaff

This is a typical Drury Inn - fairly priced and fairly nice. As at other Drury Inns there is free hot breakfast included in the room rate, and as their slogan says - there are no hidden extra fees. Our only complaint about this hotel is it appears a little unfinished (probably related to the newness of the hotel and staff)- several light switches in our room did not appear to be connected to anything and the air vent in the bathroom didn't appear to be connected (as there was no air flow in the bathroom even with the AC on high). Although the front desk staff were friendly they were not very helpful with area recommendations - they were all either college students or very new to the area. We had similar experience with the breakfast area staff - they were nice and friendly but it seemed hard for them to keep the breakfast area well stocked without specifically being asked to restock particular items.

Well, just got back from Drury, Flagstaff. Not that great! It was just OK. The "Hot breakfast" they advertise is very plain. The french toast was cold, the eggs were that weird kind of almost non egg type artificial kind. Syrup cold from a plastic bottle. Just not that well done. On our last morning, we skipped it and went to IHOP. We stayed Thu-Sun. On Saturday we left for the day and were planning to return early afternoon and rest up a little then go out to an early dinner and a play. We got back about 4pm and found our room not serviced yet! Went to the front desk and inquired about the situation. The explanation was that a lot of people had checked out the day before and they were behind a little. What does the day before have today with that day? I was told very matter of factly that it takes until sometimes 7pm to make up the rooms and this is normal! Normal? Not to make up your room until 7:00pm. I asked for another room and they said they didn't have any clean rooms. Just then another couple was trying to check in. This was now about 4:15pm. One of the other girls was telling him he couldn't check in yet and to give them his number and they would call him when it was ready! Well, I got that day comped as it almost ruined our plans. It was kind of funny, but just the day before one of the owners was there for their Grand Opening. I was wishing he was still there. I would have liked to talk to him. The evening receptions were also very generic. Just an OK stay with a few distractions. Rooms were not cleaned very well either. Floor never vacuumed, had to ask for soap/shampoo.

“Prepare for some disappointments”

My wife and I are currently staying at the brand new Drury Inn and Suites in Flagstaff. When we checked in, we were very impressed, both with the appearance of the building and our suite. We have a king suite, which is comparable to any Embassy Suites we've stayed in, minus the open lobby design with windows in the suite overlooking the lobby. We were somewhat dismayed at the "kennel" atmosphere in the lobby. There are lots of families with dogs, and of course dogs like to bark, whine, and growl at other dogs, even in hotel lobbies. Apparently Drury is a pet friendly hotel, so that should be expected at any Drury. Other than the pooches, however, the room, etc. were extremely well appointed.

Now for the dissappointment-breakfast. We arrived at the breakfast area, expecting something similar to a Hampton Inn, where we often stay. The food selection was similar to a Hampton, but that is where the simlilarities stopped. None of the tables had been wiped off since the previous evening's reception and the floor had not been swept. Every table we tried to sit at had sticky glass marks on it and the floor had popcorn all over it. Everything, and I do mean everything, at the food area was cold. Cold gravy, cold sausage, cold danishes, and cold eggs-and not just lukewarm-COLD. We happened to sit next to a very nice person who was a manager of a Drury Inn in the midwest. He was quite disgusted with the presentation and cleanliness as well. He said that he was on vacation, and trying not to work, but couldn't help but give this hotel a poor critique.

We booked this hotel thinking it would be very nice, and a comparable alternative to the Embassy Suites down the road. Unless things improve tomorrow morning, it looks like we're back to the Embassy the next time we're in Flagstaff. Hopefully this is just growing pains.

“A great find in Flagstaff”

This is easily the best hotel option in Flagstaff. We were pleasantly surprised by this hotel -- great rates, spacious rooms, very very friendly staff. You can stay here for the same price as some of the low-frills, low-slung motels that dot Flagstaff. The location is excellent. It's not the Ritz, but the newness, location and very friendly service make it a very good hotel.

We found this great hotel driving through Flagstaff looking for lodging. After calling/viewing other area motels/hotels we were happy to have found the Drury. This hotel is new and has great accomodations for the area. We stayed on a Saturday night for $104 when other older properties in the area were $30-$90 more, many of them being motel style.

The Drury offers 2 room suites or a spacious standard room. We had a king standard room with a large bathroom, large flat screen tv, mini fridge and microwave and free long distance calling. The Drury also offers free, easy to use internet both in room or downstairs in the lobby with 2 business centers with computers, fax and printer available.

From 5:30 to 7 pm each night they host a manager's reception with free drinks and snacks. We received 2 punch cards upon registration for 3 free alcholic drinks each. Non-alcholic drinks are also offered including soda, coffee and juice. Popcorn, carrots and dip, pretzels, snack mix, chips and salsa were all offered as well.

Free hot breakfast was between 7 and 10 am. Eggs, french toast, sausage, biscuts and gravy, waffles, cereal, bagels/toast, yogart and fruit were all offered along with coffee, juices and sodas.

Overall we greatly enjoyed the Drury. You can't beat it for the price and ammenities offered. We will definately stay at the Drury again next time we are in Flagstaff and recommend it to friends traveling to the Grand Canyon area.
