“An excellent choice if staying in Flagstaff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 29, 2011

This is an excellent hotel, with reasonable rates. The rooms are well appointed, clean and quiet. The facilities such as pool, lobby and self-serve laundry are maintained in excellent condition. The hotel staff is friendly and helpful. The location is convenient and seems to be a safe neighborhood. The hotel provides a free breakfast and evening light meal which wasn't exactly gourmet, but it was convenient. Outside restaurants within a short walking distance are somewhat limited. All in all, an excellent hotel at a fair price.

We stopped one night whilst touring and thought the hotel was really good. Unfortunately we missed the happy hour and the hotel does not have a bar but there is a good restaurant about 2mins walk away

I wasn't crazy about Flagstaff itself but have no complaints about this hotel. The service was excellent, the rooms were clean and very comfortable and the location is good. If you are visiting NAU definitely stay here. It is just a short walk into town and there are a few bars and restaurants very close o this hotel. I had never stayed at a Drury hotel prior to this visit but wouldn't hesitate to stay at one again based on this property,

We researched hotels in Flagstaff and chose the right one! Extremely friendly and helpful staff, clean huge room with very comfy beds and a HUGE bathroom (where the toiletries are dispensed via hand pumps, a lot like German hotels).

The facility also has a pool, hot tub and lots of free food. Breakfast has many hot and cold choices including waffles, eggs, sausage, biscuits, bagels, yogurt, cereal, muffins and donuts.
We only made it to one of the evening receptions but it was great: nachos, hot dogs, soda, popcorn and free drink tix for the adults. We didn't use ours but we saw many parents/adults enjoying that perk!

We enjoyed the Drury with plenty of available, close parking, good internet connection and a wonderful night's sleep. We read that some reviewers complained about door slamming but we didn't hear one door slam in three nights.

With a family this is the way to go and the place to stay.

I don't get to stay at the Drury very often but when I get a chance I go for it. Every time I have stayed I haven't been disappointed. Clean rooms, friendly staff plus food, snacks and drinks at 5:30. Always a nice updated hotel at reasonable prices.
This hotel is located right in the heart of Flagstaff, central to the college and convention center. Parking in the hotel lot is limited but the spaces at the convention center parking garage is comped and is right next door.

The hotel is in a great location, on the campus of Northern Arizona University. The rooms are nice, but maybe we just had a bad bed, but it was our worst night of sleep ever. The queen bed sunk in the middle, it was lumpy, the sheets were not high quality, and the way the sheets/blankets were made on the bed felt very uncomfortable. Also, we had a room next to the elevators, which we could hear all night long. The breakfast was ok, but it is in a small area and very difficult to manuever. The quality of the food was cheap as compared to other hotels that we have stayed that included a breakfast. The evening reception consisted of fried chicken tenders, hot dogs, lettuce with ranch dressing, chips with cheese sauce, baked potatoes, and brocolli soup. It was fine for our children, but not for us. We later went out to eat.

As hotels-attached-to-conference-centers go, this one was pretty decent. I somehow ended up with a suite room, which had a separate living area with a small kitchen and an extra tv, so that was nice.

The staff here are excellent. During breakfast, one of them walks around picking up dirty plates and chatting with guests, which seems unusual to me. She's friendly and helpful.

The rooms were okay; I wasn't thrilled about walking around barefoot so it didn't pass my dirty test. I agree with a previous reviewer that there weren't enough covers on the bed, and I was also leery of getting the ones that were there near my face, so I ended up sleeping a little cold. The bathroom was spotless, so that's why this earns a "very good" instead of "average".

My biggest complaint was the noise; I'm a light sleeper and had major problems staying asleep here. Doors slammed constantly, and in addition to the doors there was a separate loud banging noise (inner building result from the doors?) that went on all night. Toilets flushing and showers from the 4+ rooms surrounding me pretty much did me in. Even if you are lucky enough to have quiet people surrounding you, just the hotel noises are enough to annoy someone. Bring earplugs!

One other issue which is indirectly related to the Drury specifically but worth mentioning: I was one of the unlucky few to arrive into the Flagstaff airport and attempt to get into town without a car -- big mistake. None of the hotels here, except for the Radison, offer shuttle service to the airport which is silly because it's 8 minutes away. Several of us flew in for a conference, and stood outside the airport waiting for a cab for an HOUR AND A HALF -- as if traveling all day wasn't bad enough, we then couldn't get to our hotel! I'm told cabs sometimes sit outside the airport waiting when flights come in, but there wasn't one to be found, and although we called 5 cab companies, no one ever showed up to get us. I'd still be there, but we managed to bribe the Radison driver to take us to the Radison with the guests staying there, and then we walked to the Drury. The Drury was completely unhelpful, even though we called several times and told them we were stuck and couldn't get into town. The whole situation is something I'd care never to repeat.

Room Tip: Go for a top floor so you don't have to listen to as many toilets flushing!
