“Grand Canyon tour”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 16, 2012

My family recently booked a tour with Angel's Gate to visit the Grand Canyon. I highly recommend it. Our tour guide Corey was great. He was helpful , patient and informative. He even took our group pictures. There were 13 of us (ages 8 to 51)so we had our own personal van which was a welcome relief to the people who always had to do the driving. We went to places at the Grand Canyon that were not crowded. We even fed the mules. Our lunch was fresh and delicious. The unlimited bottles of water were also appreciated. I would recommend this tour.

“Amazing Tour”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 16, 2012

We have been to the canyon before but wanted to kick back and enjoy it this time. Our guide was Cory or Cody. He was extremely knowledgeable about the canyon including the plants and trees. The lunch was great. We got to see the canyon from many viewing spots and Cody brought a telescope to show areas in the canyon that you would have not known about otherwise. Our only complaint was that we spent a little longer than necessary at each spot and did not have time to go to the last one. Overall it was well worth the money.

“Wasy way to tackle the South Rim in a day!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2012

My family of five was only going to be at the Grand Canyon for a day. My son is a little hampered physically and is not good in the heat. At the KOA campground, the staff recommended Angel's Gate for a tour. The $109 a pop seemed a little much, but it was well worth it for what we received. The van pulled up to our campsite and we met Zack. There were only 4 other people in the group and by the end of the day, we were VERY happy we chose this option. Zack was very informative and we were plenty stuffed after dinner. We were able to do a short 1 mile hike at one point and Zack had a telescope to point out stuff in the Canyon we would not have otherwise even know about. We left at 9:20 and got back around 3:30, so really 100 bucks for a day was not all that bad. Zack took us to many good points to see the canyon and we even got to feed some of the mules. We were not disappointed!

“Grand Canyon Explorer Hike - not to be missed!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 7, 2012

My husband and I took this 3 mile hike with Angels Gate and loved it. They arrived at the hotel on time, van ride was cool and comfy, and the knowledge of the tour guides was excellent. We had 2 guides as one was training, and both contributed to a great experience. It was just the 4 of us. We bypassed the line into the GC as promised. They pointed out so many little things on the hike down, things you would walk past and never look twice at, or even notice. Plants and what they can be used for, sea shell fossils, lizard footprint fossils, the "refrigerator rock" area, the bands of colors in the rocks and what they mean, the history, animals and birds you see, the whole thing. You can hike the GC and see its beauty, but you won't know this stuff unless you read a guide book, or even easier, hire a guide to tell you :) We've done several guided tours in places around the world and this was excellent. We would hire them again if we ever go back.

Lunch was great; I don't know how they kept it so cold and fresh, but the fruits and veggies were so refreshing, sandwiches and snacks were great. You get a backpack filled with water, and there is plenty of space in there to put all your own things, like camera gear. The backpacks are very comfy; you barely know you are wearing one.

I liked how considerate they were to our speed; we didn't feel rushed on the way down or up, and they were patient when we stopped to take all our photos and ask our questions. They gave us tips on things to see if we came back on our own, and also things to see in the Painted Desert, which were very helpful. So thank you, Cory and Zach, for a great experience!
