“Good value, great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 31, 2014

Across the street from the Northwest corner of the Northern Arizona University sets a comfortable, clean, well maintained little motel that is walking distance to downtown and the university. We have stayed there a several times since our daughter started college. The price is right, the hospitality excellent and the location perfect. You can't go wrong here.

Room Tip: Keep the fan on at night to block out traffic noise from the city.

Stayed at Highland Country Inn 24 & 25 July 2014. Certainly glad we were able to get a single King room- peeked into a double queen and both beds were against opposing walls with a 3 foot area between beds. Bed was very comfortable. Separate bathroom was clean and above average in size. Cost was good for Flagstaff on a summer weekend. Room had a good AC, mini-frig (after I turned it on), microwave, table and 2 chairs. Linens were plentiful and good quality. Owners were helpful with maps. More than 90% of the rooms were non-smoking and we didn't smell any smoke in the room. Parking was good. Easy walk to downtown area took 10-15 minutes. Room was on ground floor toward back - located just off of US 66 business with a straight shot to I-17. The traffic noise was minimal & train noise was non-existent- no problem sleeping. A high end organic grocery store was located right across the street. Definitely would stay there again for several nights.

I don't stay in Flagstaff much, but will stay here again. The room was inexpensive (+- $72 king non-smoking vs. Drury Inn across the street @ $160) and very clean. We wanted to stay close to downtown, but not along the train tracks. I think this was a good compromise for that. While you can hear the horn from a passing train, it was faint and the window was wide open. Definitely not enough to wake you.

It was about a $4 cab ride from Lumberyard Brewery. Probably not much of a walk, but it was raining and didn't really care to go that route... especially for $4 (pre-tip).

Directly across the side street is the organic grocery store. Even if organic isn't your thing, it's nice having something other than a gas station to get most anything you need (sunscreen, food, snacks, etc).

The room was pretty big, with a king-size bed, fridge, microwave, tv upon a 3 drawer dresser, table with 2 chairs, and a couple of bedside tables. Lots of room to toss any gear down. It looks like you could fit two queens, but might be a bit snug. The bathroom was average size for a motel (small, but not bad). The bed and pillows were comfortable.

They have coin operated laundry on the second floor. I didn't use it, so not sure the quality, but seems like a nice feature at any rate.

I booked through Orbitz, but prices were the same against other sites. Check-in took 2 minutes (the typical: fill out name, address, car make/model), checkout was 30 seconds.

This motel is great! This motel is very clean, the rooms are great, the beds are comfortable and the management is wonderful. Besides that the price is great and it is only a 10 minute walk (through a cool residential area) to old town Flagstaff. My wife and I just stayed there for 5 days and we will definitely will be back.

The Highland Country Inn is close to downtown Flagstaff. It's located a few blocks from historic route 66, and The Flagstaff Train station. I stayed in a room that was at the end of the corridor. It was very private and quiet. There is one handicap parking space, so if you are handicap, make sure to get a room by that parking space. the room has 2 double beds, a microwave and fridge. Functional Inn Flagstaff.

For the price we paid, really couldn't have asked for more. The bed was comfortable, the room was clean (and big) and within walking distance of downtown Flagstaff. If in Flagstaff again will stay here.

I have stayed there for ten days, in June 2014. Room 208 on first floor. A ample room with two double beds, a fridge and a microwave oven. The room and the bathroom were very clean. The room was serviced daily and effectively. The people at the reception were friendly and helpful. The only issue was with wifi that sometimes had problems, but frankly quite a minor issue. Definitely recommended.
