“Nothing fancy”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2009

This hotel is kind of old which is fine as the rates are affordable. This place is big or maybe just not enough signs to point where the lobby etc that's why I always get lost when I try to go to the lobby. The breakfast area is in front of the reception desk and only has 3 tables. The breakfast is basic just pastries, bread, juices, coffee. There's restaurant in the front. Very convenient location, very close to many restaurants, stores.

ok, this is a Rodeway Inn on route 66 so who knew what to expect. I think we paid 89 at the last moment and got a some what odd room with three beds. I loved the bathroom with the rainshower head and great tile but pretty old bath tub at that point who cares. The room has this wonderful antique china cabinate for who knows what, but lovely. This is basic, but it is obvious that someone has lent a loving hand to this property. Oh, limited hair bling, soap, shampoo and that's it.

Overall, this hotel is very economical. However, the rooms were very small, and the whole property looks a little run-down. Since it was a very cold night, the room was pretty comfortable. The TV was a flat-screen, and had over 60 channels. However, the wireless internet is horrible. I had to go to the tiny lobby to get a connection. Breakfast was very simple: Orange juice, coffee, muffins, and honey buns. If I had a choice of two places for the same price, I would not choose Rodeway Inn. But if this place is cheaper, I wouldn't mind staying here for a night or two.

It's all I can do to not give this a terrible but, I am the first to say - -you get what you pay for. Free continental breakfast, juice, coffee, fruits, pastry. It is the prototype, single story 1960 era Rt 66 hotel located just off the busiest street in town. There were signs that they were maintaining the property (painting). The back off the remote was broken, the toilet wouldn't flush (fixed promptly). The chairs were rolling desk chairs. We had NO PROBLEM with cold showers-we just burnt ourselves trying to regulate the hot water. The train does come (well) behind the motel about 6 times a day. Didn't wake us but we heard it if we were awake. The beds are doubles. The electrical outlets were code violations. Nice refrigerator, microwave and A/C-didn't need the A/C or the heater in Aug! If you just need a place to flop, get a bite in the morning and the price is right then go for it. There are several Rodeways in Flagstaff so read reviews carefully.

We showed up with our printed vocher, stating that we had a confirmed booking. However the hotel manager could not find it in his systems. He did not do anything to try and find it either. At the same time he said that our vocher was invalid (weird, cause we had used this website twice that last week without any problems) and that he did not have his hotel registered online (?!?!?!?!) Anyway, we ended up paying twice as much as we had hoped in another hotel! So, my advice: STAY AWAY! The manager is crazy, rude and do not know how to provide decent sevice!!

Worst motel that we stayed in during our coast to coast drive.
Room is tooooo small. When you enter the room and put your bags , you don't have any space to walk around!
Bathrooms are terrible. No hot water.
Room stinks.
Bed just sucks.
We were just waiting for the night to get over!
Stay away from this place. You can get good place by spending 5 - 10 $ extra.

We spent a night here early March. Check-in was quick and simple. The rooms are quite dated and look like they could use a lick of paint but they were clean if not a little small.

Everything worked fine in the room except for the heating which was a little erratic and noisy. However, in a town where the evening temperature hit 21f (-6) there was no heating in the bathroom which also had a tiled floor. I think I nearly got frost bite having a shower and a shave the next morning.

The hotel is situated about a 5 minute walk from the town centre, where there are plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from to eat in. We tried to get in the Beaver Street Brewery but it was packed and so I can now highly recommend the Flagstaff Brewing Company a few minutes walk away where the beer is excellent and the food good value. Please bear in mind though it's a more of a traditional pub than a restaurant.

Sorry, back to the Rodeway Inn. Check-out was easy as we used the quick drop due to an early start. For the price, it was great value and central.
