“you get what you pay for”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 13, 2012

A few minutes from Downtown Flag. Cheap rooms. Nothing too special. Was clean enough. They "remodeled". Trying to make it look funky. Beds were hard. Pillows flat. Over all, it did the trick for the night. Not my fav place tho.

My wife and I stayed here on the final night of our 16 day trip to Texas. We were on the last leg of our trip back home to California.

I made reservations with the hotel directly, and the process was easy, even from the road. I even received an email confirmation via my phone! We also received an AARP rate which was great for the room and room amenities!

I had reviewed this hotel on tripadvisor before making the reservation and was convinced that this was a safe, updated Motel 6 and was also encourage by the room photos online.

This is a LARGE motel. At first that seemed intimidating, as it was busy! Our check-in was professionally taken care of and I appreciate so much the friendliness of the staff after our over 700 mile drive from Lubbock, TX. that day. The staff took good care of us, even though several were waiting to check in or with various needs.

Our room was on the third floor and since there was an elevator, it was easy to get our luggage in to the room.

The room was wonderful, I loved the updated decor, the laminate floors, lighting in the bathroom, the flat screen tv. The good thing about the bathroom was the powerflush toilet. The shower was renovated and was nice for the size of the room and price.

The only two things I was concerned about were that the elevators was a bit worn inside, it needs to have a decor make-over, but I know it is well/often used. Additionally, there were stains on the walkways, I am assuming from spills, but it made the motel less attractive.

All in all, a great place to stay for the price, and one of the most affordable in Flagstaff for those on a budget. I would not hesitate to stay here again!

Room Tip: Stay on an upper floor, away from the interstate if possible. Our room faced the Days Inn next door...

Who should stay at motel 6: Anyone who has a pet, does not necessarily need a ground floor, flexible, not obnoxious, needs a roof, floor, bathroom, and shower, not a light sleeper, not allergenic (because it's a pet friendly motel and you gonna have a lot hair and fur!), is well prepared having certain basic items such as soap, toothpaste, toothbrush, floss, (If you don't have those items, there is a nice big wal-mart across the street to carry mini travel accessories).

And one more thing for those that are staying for 7 days or longer pay the additional fee to get your damn room serviced everyday!!!

I had to hear all this awaiting in line for a staff to answer all these questions! This motel is remarkable and I would recommend it to anyone just not those in the above listing. The poor staff that have to listen to this, i feel for them, knowing all these people expect great things as if it were the Merriot, but it's not. You get what you pay for, and that's that! Deal with it!

Room Tip: Choose high and to the sides.

This place is good for the cheap price. Rooms are sparse but clean. The front desk staff was nice.

It is a good sleeper, but wireless connection was poor. Staff was helpful, the bed cover was stained and I got a clean one immediately. The rooms have been renovated with taste and functionality.

Room Tip: Away from the highway side and perhaps on the second floor is best

I was part of a group attending a Memorial Weekend youth soccer tournament which I know is always hectic for the local motels. My reservation was somehow lost but the manager was very pleasant and after a short wait was able to find a room even though they were fully booked. The room looked recently renovated and was clean although maybe not up Anthony Melchiorri standards as I noticed some dust above the mirror. The room had a very nice tile, no carpet which I liked because the floor seemed very clean. There is a nice shopping center right across the street which was a pleasant walk in the morning.
