While not a bad place to stay because of dirt or poorly maintained rooms, the single reason not to stay at this particular hotel lies beyond the control of the staff – the railroad. The train is less than a quarter mile away & runs all night…with whistles…did I mention it runs ALL night? Previous reviewers have mentioned that this hotel has been undergoing renovations, and while they have been largely completed at this time, you are still dealing with a garden-style hotel from a previous era. In other words, the sound-proofing is not good. So, we did not get the best night’s sleep in this hotel. Other than that, this hotel was adequate for it’s amenities: the usual high speed internet, cable and an outdoor pool that is open seasonally. Hot breakfast was offered & included the waffle/egg patty/sausage that many hotels in this chain offer, but the room in which breakfast was served was much too small for the number of people that were trying to use it at peak times – my recommendation is to get your breakfast and get out! Again, the stay was reasonably priced, somewhere around $55 for the night, and the rooms were comfortable enough for a single evening, but the train is the deal breaker here. Unfortunately, many of the area hotels (Ramada, Motel 6, Holiday Inn) are all located on the same road (Lucky Lane) and probably have the same problem with the train unless they are more well soundproofed. I would try to stay somewhere else!
