I stayed at this property on July 25, 2014. It is situated on the south end of Flagstaff, near the NAU campus and very close to the intersection of I-40 and I-17. The hotel is a bit on the older side, in terms of overall amenities and room decor. We opted to stay in a two queen room, which was ground floor and faced the pool area. The room itself was fairly clean, and the furniture was not worn or dated. The television was a bit a bit small for the size of the room, but the beds were extremely comfortable. The lobby and dinning room area were also clean, and had a rustic country feel to them. The pool, while small, was clean. There were two small hot tubs adjacent to the pool, and they were warm and inviting. While the pool claims to be closed at 9:00pm, this only means that the lights were turned off. There were people outside in the area for several hours after this.
I would have liked to have given this hotel 5 stars. However, there were some small things that bothered me. First, the oohs themselves need some TLC. They were not dirty or worn, but the hotel just felt a bit dated. Second, the hotel has only one ice machine for each wing of the hotel, and the one near us was not keeping up with demand. Third, though the hotel website adverses rooms that are poolside, they are not. The pool is located in a gated "island" at the end of the parking lot. It is a find pool, but you must cross the driveway/parking lot to get to it. Finally, for a hotel with room rates close to $130 a night, I wold expect a better breakfast buffet. It was decent, but seemed a bit spartan for the cost. Overall, our experience at the hotel was fine. The location was great, and there is a lot of dining and shopping options near the property. For the cost though, I would probably look elsewhere for a better value.
