“Very nice hotel but had problems”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 29, 2013

This was a very nice hotel with spacious rooms, free wifi and an exercise room. A full breakfast was provided and it was much better than average. It is located away from traffic and is convenient to numerous restaurants.
I had a problem with the air conditioning because it wasn't working. The night clerk could do nothing about the problem and when I spoke with the manager the next morning, I was offered compensation for the bad nights sleep. I have tried to contact the manager again because I have yet to receive the compensation we agreed upon. This usually does not happen with a "Choice" hotel.

This property was located up a hill and had an extensive lobby, which makes me think it may have started its existence and something more luxurious than a Comfort Inn. The room was very nice and the breakfast was good.

We recently spent one night at this hotel as part of a 10 day road trip....it was an excellent choice! The Comfort Inn is in a great location...convenient from the freeway and close to restaurants, shopping, etc. The property is very nice and well maintained. We had our little dog with us and it was perfect...the parking lot is huge so she could get some exercise and there are several grass areas. There is a forested area right behind the hotel, which is private property but makes for very pretty scenery. The lobby is very pretty with a nice breakfast....the staff is great!

We were in a suite (mini suite) which had a couch & coffee table, king bed, small dining table and a small kitchen area with a refrigerator, microwave, and sink...it was decorated very nice, very clean, and the bed was comfortable. The only drawback at all (and not a big issue) was that the room did seem very dark even with all of the lights on.

We had a great stay at this hotel and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting the Flagstaff area. There are many choices in Flagstaff and I'm glad we chose the Comfort Inn.

We came in after dinner, went to bed early, ate breakfast and left early to head to the Grand Canyon. But this is a beautiful hotel with a very comfortable room, very quiet, with a complimentary breakfast more complete than many similar hotels. The only problem was the inside handle on our room door was loose (nearly falling off) -- this didn't cause us any problems but we did report it at check out.

Stayed here early may 2013 for 6 nights as we drove around the area on day trips. The free breakfast saves a lot of time for getting an early start. It's also located near many restaurants and stores etc so it's a great base of operations to visit central arizona. Rooms were clean and quiet.

This hotel was well decorated and the rooms were very nice and clean. The hotel staff was very friendly and useful for information about the area. The pool is outside so if you want to swim, make sure you are there in the summer heat ! We'd traveled thru the Petrified Forest and the Painted Desert so this place was a welcome site for us. It's close to shopping and restaurants too.

We arrived at the hotel around 6PM and had a nice exterior look amidst a backdrop of sanfransico peaks.
Checkin was qucik.

Location:
The hotel is located in a nice neighborhood, which is near to gas stations, departmental stores and there is a nice shopping area just 1/2 mile away which had restaurants, fastfood places, walmart etc.

Rooms:
- The hotel lives up to its ratings. very clean room, sheets and furniture
- The bathroom was equally neat with clean shower and fixtures, towels were clean and new enough
- No noise issues from neighboring rooms.
! Since it's a wooden structure (may be old), there *may* be some noise issues when ppl on top floor walk about.
! Also, there is only 1 elevator at one end of the building. so its a long walk if you have to go to the other end with luggage in tow.

Food & service:
- They had a huge reception area and was very welcoming. It had a hunting-lodge type theme which was very cool and expected on higher-end resorts.
- Breakfast was expansive (compared to previous stays in other comfort inns).

Overall, I would highly recommend staying here.
Ideally I would have given 5*, but for the fact that I had paid like around 170/night. And for a comfort inn (supposed budget-range), is too much!
So 1 star less.

Room Tip: Try to get rooms on top floor.
