My sister and I and four kids (ages 18, 12,11 and 10) decided to make a last minute trip to the Grand Canyon. We were booking a hotel in Flagstaff, AZ and found the hotel offered a package deal including this tour. We were able to book the tour three days before our trip. We were picked up from our hotel lobby at 9:00 a.m. in a van and travelled with one other family. Our tour guide, Kevin, gave us a short tour of Flagstaff and gave us lots of information on the area during the drive to Grand Canyon. We stopped along the way at a small store for souvenirs and snacks. Prices there were much better than closer to Grand Canyon. Once we got to Grand Canyon, we made a number of stops at different outlooks. We were able to by-pass the crowded Visitor's Center because our guide gave us all the information we needed and knew the best places to stop. Kevin had lots of interesting information and a scope for us to see things better. He was able to keep the adults and the children very interested and entertained. We had a picnic lunch (sandwiches, fruit, coleslaw, chips, soda) half-way through the tour. We toured the south rim of the canyon and saw quite a bit of the canyon. When we left the Grand Canyon National Park, we got even more information on the way back to Flagstaff and stopped at a Native American road-side store for fresh elk jerky (which was good!) and shopping. We arrived back at our hotel just before 6:00 p.m. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone seeing the Grand Canyon, especially for the first time. The tour was very professional, fun and interesting. The guide knows just where to stop, and we didn't have to fool around with maps and figure out which way to go on our own.
