This was the first night of a rental RV trip, and my first night ever in an RV campground, so I don't have much experience in this area. However, we were very pleased with this experience. The camp sites were fairly private and it was inexpensive. There are only pit toilets but they were quite clean. The campground hosts were nice and the other campers were quiet.
This is a popular campsite, near Sedona and up a winding, scenic road (with interesting rock formations on either side) through the National Forest. We made reservations a few days before the trip and thus only had two sites to choose from. We got #38, which was near the road. There was a little traffic noise early in the evening but not as much as I expected, and it got quieter later. We got in late but took a quick walk the next morning. There are some sites that are not only near the river, but have a large, red, pretty natural rock wall behind them. Those would be fabulous and both private and quiet. I thought #21 looked pretty, although it was right next to the bathrooms. If I went again, I would book a site early and look for a site near #21 and along the river.
We were there in early April 2012. The temperature in the evening was pleasant - no need for heat or cooling and we had a nice breeze. It did get a little chilly during the night, so we were grateful for warm sleeping bags.
