“Excellent value and great service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 19, 2009

Just to be clear, this is a motel with exterior entrance to the rooms. (It may be unclear on their website due to the fancy name, slick branding, and glossy photos.) But any comparison to motel quality ends there. They have definitely put in some effort to really spruce this place up. Very nice rooms with comfortable beds and all the extra amenities offered are greatly appreciated. Fridge, wireless internet, social hour with free drinks and a great breakfast in the mornings serving waffles, hashbrowns, biscuits & gravy, sausage, eggs, muffins, fruit...the works!

The train noise is barely noticeable at night. Just bring some extra ear plugs if you are a light sleeper.

We were upgraded to a 2 room suite at check in (THANKS!) and the extra space was nice after spending a few days camping at the Grand Canyon in a cramped tent. Friendly front desk staff that were very helpful in giving directions and recommendations. Keep up the great service!

We stayed here for two nights while on a quick trip to visit the Grand Canyon. It is a cute roadside motel that they are fixing up and giving character. With your stay you get breakfast every morning and a happy hour with beer and wine in the evening. They are also computers available in the lobby which make printing your boarding pass convenient. We were very happy with our stay and would stay again.

My husband, our 13 year old daughter, and myself spent the weekend at the Hotel Aspen Innsuites in Flagstaff. We were there for my birthday and I was looking forward to having a great time. We reserved their Presidential Suite which featured a jacuzzi in the master bedroom. We we arrived, we found that one of the two three-drawer dressers was broken. When we spoke to the office, they said there would be no one available to fix it until the following day. We could not unpack much in the mean time. Their efforts the next day proved futile and we could not use it either of the days we stayed. In addition, the jacuzzi was also broken and one of the main lamps didn't work. I spoke with the manager and he did make an adjustment to the final bill. But I prefer the experience to be good from the start. On the bright side, they do have a nice social hour and their complementary breakfast is pretty darn good. Overall, they just need to work on their maintenance standards a bit.

We stayed here on our way out to Santa Fe from Los Angeles and enjoyed it so much we stayed there on the return trip as well. It is on Route 66 and just across from the Railway , but we never heard the trains at all. The first night we stayed in a regular suite , small but nicely kept and very clean, there was free breakfast available but we did not use that choosing to find a little restaurant in the lovely town of Flagstaff. The front desk staff were breathtakingly helpful, acting more like concierges in a four star hotel than lowly desk clerks in a motel. We made reservations for the same size-King Suite- for our return trip and we were upgraded to a Presidential Suite, it was enormous and allbeit a little dated what with the Jacuzzi next to the bed-very Hugh Hefner- but very clean and with a pretty decent kitchen and large and well-appointed bathroom.Very, very comfy bed! All in all I would highly recommend this place and it was only $65 a night! My only complaint would be the exercise room , next to the breakfast area, which had a really old stair-stepper and a mediocre treadmill but plenty of free weights, just ok for a quick work-out but nothing more.

Stayed here for three nights because of its proximity to the eastern entrance to the Grand Canyon (about an hours drive) . The hotel is probably typical of accommodation in Flagstaff, being about twenty to thirty years old and based on the main road through the town (Route 66). The room was a double queen executive but nontheless was in need of refurbishment, particularly the carpet that could have done with a good clean. The railway running through the town is well used by freight trains, I counted about six in an hour during the night and every one sounds its horn at the same places. Thankfully, they were relatively quiet going past our hotel. The complementary breakfast was adequate being cereals, toast and of course waffles.

Great place to just park your bags and to sleep at night. Rooms are big and have enough privacy if sharing suite with another family or teenagers. Breakfast is ample to start your day. Only minus side is the service - they must be overwhelmed with guests because of the great value. Cleaning people did not replace toilet paper when it ran out so we asked several times for additional toliet paper, but never got it.; good thing we brought our own for travel for "just in case" moments. Bathroom was stopped up. Was promised that maintenance will be there; no one came. When we asked again, they gave us a plunger so we can take care of it ourselves!

We stayed at the Hotel Aspen Inn as part of a trip to the Grand Canyon, Sedona, Montezuma regions. The place was nice and clean though a bit dated, but very comfortable for us and our little children. The staff was very friendly and helpful (esp. the folks who served the breakfast). All in all a good value for the money and definitely worth staying in if you are looking for a "no-frills" place.
