“Could use some improvements.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 12, 2009

It's not a bad hotel. We booked on Expedia and payed about $55 a night (Friday and Saturday). Our neighbour told me he payed only $40 a night for exactly the same room.
We booked a King Size bed on expedia but they could only offer us 2 queens. This happens on Expedia a lot, so I'm not sure if it's the hotel to blame.

The rooms are average, there is a microwave, fridge and a coffeemaker which is pretty convenient. The TV reception is good and they offer about 100 channels.
Also the high speed wifi worked fine. The beds were alright, not to soft and not to hard.

We did have a problem with the air conditioning. We turned it on and after 5 minutes it broke down. We went to the reception the next morning at 8:30 am and they apologised and promised to send someone over to fix it right away. When we got back to the hotel at about 9pm the airco was not fixed! Very disappointing.

The location is alright, it's about half a mile from down town Flagstaff and 90 minutes drive from Grand Canyon. It's located right next to a railroad and there will be trains driving by all day long, so if you're a light sleeper bring ear plugs.

We stayed here as it was late at night and we were tired and needed a room desperately. The young man (18 - 20) who checked us in gave us the wrong information when we asked his advice. We asked how far it was to Monument Valley and was told that it would take 6 hours (it took us 2 hours)! Also the breakfast was served in the lobby and was very very poor (just a few cakes etc). This place doesn't live up to its name. I would strongly advise against staying here. The best thing about it was that it was on the legendary Route 66!!!!

Great cheap hotel near Flagstaff, about an hour from the Grand Canyon. The owner was very friendly, the rooms were newly decorated (brand new sheets and comforters). Had all the amenities you need, including fridge and microwave in every room. Very comfortable bed. If you like small family-run budget hotels this is the place to stay. Far enough from the train tracks that we didn't hear any train noise all night.
